Started at $40 and moved up with permutation bidding to finally win at $48 after declining several offers at $54 and even one at $69 on the way up. I used several other acceptable zones as "free" re-bid zones since there was only one true free rebid available for 2.5* bids in this market and I wanted 2.5 to get free parking and breakfast which you don't usually get at higher * levels.
Conventional rate for this property was $94 on the BW Peppertree website, $83 on the Priceline transparent site, $53 on the PL Xpress site and $55 on Hotwire. Other 2.5 conventional rates in this market were $149 for HIE downtown, $89 for Peppertree Liberty Lake, $97 for Comfort Inn Spokane Valley, $106 for HIE Spokane Valley, and $85 for LaQuinta Spokane Valley, all of which zones I used in my unsuccessful permutation bids. I'll use this post to renew my usual plea for including conventional rate information on similar properties and particularly on the winning property as I have done above when reporting wins. It is invaluable for formulating a bidding strategy. I started my bidding through the BFT box on the right of the front page screen and hope that the "credit" is retained when starting new bidding sequences after declined offers without leaving the PL website and not going all the way back to the BFT site each time. How does that work?
This was not a huge savings over the XPress and Hotwire prices, but enough for a burger and a coke nonetheless and I am happy with getting the BWP Inn, so all is well.
Thank you for placing your bid through our link to Priceline. Based on your comment about free breakfast and parking, you are very lucky you weren't upgraded. When you really want specific amenities, it's best to purchase an Express Deal. You really lucked out this time because that's not what usually happens.
As long as you don't click through a Priceline email, the credit will carry through in a single bidding session. You don't have to start over through our link if you don't abandon your bid and start over later.
