Actually started two nights back then again tonight.  Houma has five free rebid areas (Luling, Galliano, Ama, Berwick and D'ville).  I lowballed the first bids starting at $40 and ending at $50.  Tonight, I did $51 to $56.  No counters at all.  I know with small towns, the bidding is more difficult.  There is a $62 Express Deal for the 2.5* hotel rated 7/10.  I am debating whether to just take it. 

Fairfield is $89 and Laquinta is $85.  Used the P/L link on all bids.

Yep that's the small town stigma. Originally being from N.O., I've heard a lot about Houma but never been there.

If it were me, I would just wait until the very last minute as there is plenty of availability.

Started at $57 and got a $67 countered. Got the Fairfield Inn at $60 (after bidding $58 + Luling, $59 + Galliano). It was a 32% savings which isn't bad for a small market and the hotel has good reviews. With taxes, $143.20. I am happy with the bid (especially since fly out in 7 hrs to Lafayette .. a 5 gate airport!).
