We accessed Priceline through the BFT link.
We needed 4 rooms for one night for a film crew. This hotel is one of the closest to the film studio/sound stages.
Hotel prices for this coming week seem quite high, so some event may in the area. We had a strict budget for this film shoot of no more than $240 for 4 rooms. The General Motors Tech Center is nearby, which also keeps hotel prices in this area higher, as many sales people visit the GM facility on business.
Priceline had this 2.5 * Express Deal for our date, with an 8.0 out of 10 Priceline Customer Rating, for $47 peer room per night. A review of the Priceline Retail web site showed that this was likely to be the Extended Stay America. I have long gone to great lengths to avoid Extended Stay Americas on Priceline, due to the fact that they have a policy that after your bid is accepted, for the first time they advise that there is a mandatory upcharge if you want two beds instead of one queen bed. In this instance, that was not an issue.
We had put up a film crew at this same hotel years ago, and the crew members did not care for it. However, based upon one of the Priceline reviews, the hotel has been renovated. I do not recall ever having seen another Extended Stay America with a Priceline Customer Rating of 8 out of 10. The hotel also has free breakfast, free wi-fi, free parking, and free Showtime. It also has a kitchenette with refrigerator, full stove top and oven. Several reviewers said it was one of the nicest Extended Stay America they had seen.
There are also favorable reviews of this hotel on Trip Advisor.
We were not interested in bidding on a 2.5 * in the Warren zone, since there is a 2.5 star with only a 5 out of 10 rating, and another with a 6 out of 10 rating.
Priceline also had an Express Deal for a 3* hotel, with a 7.6 Customer Rating, for $96, 24% off of the $109 per night Retail Price. I bid for the 3* up to $55 per room, and was rejected with no counter offer.
Priceline had another 2.5 * Express Deal for $42 per room, but that only had a 6 out of 10 Customer Rating.
When I first attempted to purchase this Express Deal yesterday evening, it had disappeared. It reappeared early this morning, but then disappeared again. I tried requesting only 3 rooms, and it reappeared. Then it disappeared again. When it finally reappeared at about 11:30 am today, I purchased it.
I just looked at the Express Deal again, and it has now increased to $49 for Monday night.
