Playoffs start today with Nanamio visiting Abbostford (one of the top 5 teams this year easily).

Abby wins this by 30 plus points. It will be a good learning experience for Nanamio that has good numbers and will help the program going forward.

Thursday

Vernon at Duchess Park.

Duchess Park dominated the JV Prince George area this season but I can't find any info on them or their roster and Vernon has some guys who played up so it's ahrd to go agasint vernon in this one.

Rutland at Seaquam

Seaquam is another top 5 team in my books with a very dyanmic and explosive team and will win this game easily by 30 points.

R. Bateman at Ballenas

the jr Whalers have a very good team here and will win by 21 points

Notre Dame at Mt Bouchiere

Mt. Boucherie is coming off a very strong performance agasint Terry Fox and beat ND in the regulr season and I expect them to do it again by 14 points.

South Kamloops at Mission

Mission will win this game by 21 plus points

Handsworth at LT

LT has a very strong team and ahs played a tough schedule, this will help them prevail by 14 plus points.

WJM at STM

WJM has done well against weaker teams but haven't been able to rise to the occasion against better teams. STM by 21 here.

Holy Cross at Carson Graham

Holy Cross played a very tough schedule and this will help them in a voctory by 7

Pitt at Windsor

Windsor is the winner here although it could be a close game.

Hugh Boyd at John Barsby

Barsby will be too much for Hugh Boyd to handle.

Prince George at Westsyde

This game is a tossup for me.

i'm really looking forward to the 2nd round where there will be some great games.

Abby was a little rusty in this game and Nanamio brought a great effort but 2 things held them to a 40-22 loss at the home of the Panthers today.

1)Samwell Uko, who is such a difference maker at this level and looks to be a bright star for the senior panther team for the next 2 years as well.

2) Being a little undermanned at a couple of positions which gave bad matchups, defensively with the Panthers being bigger on the lines and stronger and faster at the LB and DB positions.

Nanamio lost one of their bigger and better lineman on the first scoring drive and that didn't help their case, not that the winner was ever really in doubt as Uko scored on 2 of his 3 first touches on the ball.

Still a great effort by Nanamio with outstanding games by the Bradbrooke brothers and a great all around effort by a team that was clearly outmatched but didn't let their heads sag even when beaten.

Abby still has what it takes to win it all thi year but they will need a better team effort going forward as the teams get tougher and can better matchup and at least slow down Uko

I'm really looking forward to watching LT and Seqaum tomorrow in Cloverdale to see how they match up against Abby further on in the playoffs.

Seaquam looked as good as advertised with a 42-0 win over a gutsy Rutland team.

Seaquam has a very good run game and their lines dominated this game and QB Josh Haydu is a force out there as are the Philpot's especially #5 at RB Jason. #6 Tyson Philipot is dandgerous and both players make up a last defense that is very good.

Rutland had outstanding efforts both ways from lineman Jared Pimerskern who despite being only 165 lbs plays very strong on the ball and as a blocker on offense.

RB Matt Klak ran strong and is going to be a very good senior player.

QB and safety Zach Hammett had a strong game as did fullback Brayden Anderson

In the following game LT was absolutely destroying Handsworth and ahd scored on their first 5 possessions before I left to beat the traffic (and the rain and wind sucked but there was a strong turnout for the game considering the time and weather conditions).

LT is a serious contender for the junior crown this year as I believe they are a superior team to both ABBY and Sequam but I haven't seen Fox, New West, VC or MD play yet.

New West did beat them 28-6 in the regular season so I can't wait to see New West play they must have a great team this year.

Derek Best is a beast on both sides of the ball RB/LB and is an outstanding fullback when he lines up at that position as well.

LT has very good team speed and tenacity and their lines absolutely dominated a good Handsworth line.

I think LT could beat both Abby and Sequam even if Best wasn't on the team but with Best he brings such a force on the field that teams can only hope to slow him down as he is extremely difficult to contain.

Handsworth had bad luck in the first 1/4 with the wind kicking 2 punts for negative yards on their own side of the field as well as 2 fumbles.

great efforts by both losing teams today as they were both clearly outmatched.

Man I wish there was more interest in this forum but it is what it is I guess.

On to the next round.

STM at MD

STM has had some mixed results this year and ahs a very deep team but MD is very polished and explosive and deep as well.

MD wins by 14.

Seaquam at VC/[B]

Seaquam beat VC 28-6 back in early October in an exhibition match but the game will be much closer this time.

Seaquam is hungry and will win by 7

[B] John Barsby at Abbostsford

Abby was rusty last week but will be prepared and unless Basrby can slow down Uko they won't be able to win. Barsby is a very pass happy team (especially for JV and might try to go TD to TD with Abby but it will be Abby by 14 here.

LT at Terry Fox

Another very good matchup and fox beat LT 20-18 in October but it will be a very good game.

A coinflip for me but gut says LT is on the rise.

Holy Cross at Ballenas

Ballenas beat HC 22-2 in the regular season and I expect them to win by 14 here as well.

Mount Bouchiere at New West

Mount Bouchiere has had a very good season but they will be in tough against New west. I fully expect NW to prevail and wear down the boys from Mt Bouchiere. NW by 14

Westsyde at Windsor

good to see another interior program with good numbers coming out and 13 year old TB Talen St Jean looks to be an extremely outstanding player going forward.

Windsor should prevail but Talen will be the difference if they don't.

It's interesting to note that the Bluewave have a very balanced Defense without Talen.

Good things for the future but Windsor by 7

[B] Duchess Park at Mission[B]

Still don't know anything about Duchess Park but they beat quite a good team in Vernon, not sure if they can keep up with Mission.

mission by 14.

New west and MD in the final.

MD has an explosive deep team but NW is just a juggernaut and will win by 10 plus points IMO.
