I have a daisy powerline 822 that wont build up pressure. It pumps, but the air seems to go out the other side. What could be the problem? If it is a valve or seal, is there a repair kit i could get?Any help is greatly appreciated.

that is a common problem with most pneumatic pumps. it leads me to believe that it is most likely the seal. i accidently over oiled a pumpmaster 760 and the seals are screwed now and the gun won't hold air.

pneumatic guns should always be stored with pressure against the seals to hold them in place otherwise they will shrink and dry out.

Hi Ernie. Are you cocking the bolt so that it is open, then pumping it up. You must cock the bolt on the Daisy guns to close off the firing valve so the pressure will not leak out. If that is not you problem then you need to reseal the gun. There are 7 seals and O rings that need to be replaced. I have them in stock but the are a very tricky gun to reseal, right. Email me and I will try to help you. Thanks, Ron Scalzo

There is no pressure on the spring. The only pressure on the spring is when you fire and the hammer strikes the value stem. Then the spring is under pressure to return the value stem to the closed position. the gun does not have to be pumped up to full presure just a pump or two on multi pump guns. the small amount of presure inside the value holds the entry seal and the value stem seal in place.
