Re: Crank up the Victrola again

Thanx for the post on "you can go your..." guys. Why I like the internet? This song took me the better part of a day to learn by just playing the song over and over... With the net?  I can learn a song in 10 to 20 minutes! Here it is - yes - I was a big "southern rocker" in my day. https://youtu.be/...

Re: Challenge The Yankees Reissue

Thanx guys - forgot to check the price range again. I would've been comfortable with 40 to 50 considering the cost of  things today - printing and all that... The reference to "gamers" and "collectors" has got me to thinking  about the current state of the hobby in general.  Don't want to hijack thi...

Re: Challenge The Yankees Reissue

Totally with you John - as long as they had marked all the parts "reprint" -
I would've picked one up if in the 20 to 30 buck range.

Re: More from the Babe Ruth Fake Factory

I wasn't posting in Feb. when this was discussed.

Those are very crude and anyways, before I would bid on something I was totally unsure of?
I would contact Butch for input.

The mason jar version is really neat as a "folk art" piece for a buck!

Re: BASEBALL GAMES Update, 2017 July

Thanx for the honest reply guys. It's just a thought on my part. As said, if people were really interested in communicating, they would. I was wondering where Dave was also. When I left for a bit, it was during the renovation phase at our house and we were living in 1 room -  like a motel and I had ...

Well gentlemen, this is how life goes.  I'm going to be stoically optimistic and see how things go.

I know you guys work hard at our forum, so I'll defer to you on all matters "board related."👍

Re: This year's trip to the National

Thanx guys. I'll post some more pics soon. On the Tues. - I have friends with tables and they usually have an extra dealer tag to pass on - the one I had this year was won in a private forum auction to raise money for a board member who's wife is being treated for cancer by commute and it's breaking...

This year's trip to the National

Hi everyone Did not go last year but did the year before and of course this year in Chicago. If one is a "game" collector? Slim pickens. Very few complete games - mostly display pieces of boards. I did see a nice turn of the century game at an auction - I'll see if I have a scan. Did see this game -...

Re: Value of Major League Baseball indoor game

My pleasure Win.

I've walked the entire floor at the National and all of the games were "beaters" - many just the game board
- did see 2 games that appeared to be complete.
I'll get some scans up.

I did buy a very rare game IMO - Red Bird BB Game to include the box - very nice.

Re: Value of Major League Baseball indoor game

Just in case anyone was wondering, the example of Major League Indoor Base Ball under discussion here went up on eBay with an asking price of $2000. "Best offer" lower than that took it home at the end of May: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1913-Classic-Major-League-Indoor-Baseball-Board-Game-/262...

Wow!

I'm kind of disappointed.

People can come here when they want info - value of an item e.g. - but when asked to help out?

Come on. It's not like Butch is asking you to perform brain surgery on yourself.

Re: Baseball coin op

Thanx guys. I wouldn't be surprised if mine had an insert at one time and it got discarded due to deterioration. I wouldn't put real gum in them but if someone made "proper" size white BB gum balls - ya know with stitching on them? I'd jump on it. I have a total of 5 coin op machines that are "baseb...

I'm sure, if you can prove it's the same game, eBay will take it down.

This happens many times with baseball cards.

Baseball coin op

I actually purchased this machine last year before the renovation - I believe - but didn't have a chance to clean it up. My books are stored away till after "my" part of the renovation but I'm sure I saw it in Mark's tome. Often times, these machines are really dirty - this one no exception. Play Ba...

Hey Butch. I'm sure by now some may be using the dreaded "hate" with respect to PhotoBucket. I just want to further clarify my full experience. So, not only are all of my posted photos everywhere displaying the clock of death but also they've blocked me from editing my own scans for personal use. Be...

Thanx guys.
I think you bid on the same game as I.
I've been waiting for the game for some time - so I set a big snipe - never thinking it would go for so much.

I/we seem to have some competition for these games.

On recent AH results, turn of the century games are going for righteous bucks.

Hi Todd Would I be correct and this us a complete game you're referring to? https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/editor/t1/l2s5k7ookclb.png I enjoyed reading about your experiences.
