So what options do I have for a 1/72 PC-9, and roulette markings?

Currently doing a 1/72 Red Arrows Hawk, to go with my 1/72 Blue Angels Hornet and Thunderbirds F-16. What am I doing building 1/72 scale stuff.

I think I saw one for sale recently in the Market Place.

Not sure how easy to find the kit is anymore.

1. Get some start up capitol, probably $50-100k should do.

2. Select a good CAD drawing man, Ivo at Baz Models has done work for Minicraft and Revell, lives in Northern Italy, so not far to Switzerland to get all the good info.

3. Plan a 1/48 and 1/72 release, but you will need more capitol.

4. Plan a maufacturer to turn said CAD drawings into injected plastic, I think Poland would be the best place to start, they do a lot of Revell stuff, and Revell seem to keep the price down. As a last resort check with Chinese manufacturers, but use a lot of caution, they like to Modify CAD drawing, with the saying they are improving it, in fact they make it worse, check with Richard Alexander at Wingnut Wings about that one or Ivo at Braz.

5. Do use Chinese box maufacturers, and choose a Chinese sounding name like "Benni" with a couple of cool chinese characters after it, and they are sure to put "Made in China" on it for free.

6 There a a couple of really good decals maufacturers, like Cartograph, plan on a print run of about 5000 for first issue, change decals for second release.

7. Allow about 2 years for start to getting product on the shelf, start with selling through Lucky Model, and everyone is sure that the new kits are coming from China, so guaranteed that you can ask way over the normal retail price.

8. Send me a couple of free kits so I can do the first online reviews.

10. I would avoid going through any Czech designers or maufacturers, as the Czech Crown is way too high to get any kind of value for money.

11. The upside is you now have the ultimate PC9 kit with RAAF decals, so you can do the whole team.

Now me, i'm really salivating hanging out for those review kits.

Boy do we need a good PC9!.
Now where are my meds

..if you can find one.I picked one at that hobby shop in Roselands years ago. Last time I looked the vac form canopy had started to yellow. By the way does anyone know what can be done about yellowing vac form canopies ?

G'day Michael,

bugger! I'll have to dig mine out and have a look, I have an MPM 1:72 S51 helicopter in the stash that has yellowed. I would also be interested in any remedy.

Cheers,
Rod

I've also got an old CMR CA-15 with the same problem. There's got to be a remedy....hasn't there ?!!! Better go check my MPM S51 ! Maybe the remedy is to not hoard them but build them !

Yeah mate, I'd rather build everything in 1/48, but you know, little side projects.

I will grab it if that sale falls through.

I don't check the market place place too much. The Minister for War & Fianance is often on my back for buying stuff.

Thankyou.
