I was invited by frequent annieorphans poster, Tony, to see him in not one, but TWO musicals this week. Tonight, I will be seeing him in "The Return"

and earlier in the week, he was fabulous in "Shame," a rock opera adaptation of "The Scarlet Letter."

If any of you live in or near LA, you should check out one of the shows.

"Shame" was done in a very non-traditional venue - it is in a nightclub/bar, which also happens to have a stage. I don't think they will let you in to see the show if you are under-age - they checked my ID. I thought the performers were excellent, but the music was a bit all over the place. It was like a loud rock concert with performers who were close enough to touch - so odd that many of the new shows I'm seeing these days prefer to keep the canned music louder than the performers.

I was called back for eponine, but didnt end up getting it though. I am just in the ensemble, but i do have several solos, which is nice. I play the factory girl in the beginning who gets in a fight with fantine and gets her fired, as well as several other things. The entire cast is incredibly talented so i feel pretty good to have stood out enough to have gotten a couple solos and stuff.
