Hi guys...

I'm calling on my "annieorphan family" as my daughter calls you...

Several months ago my daughter auditioned for an Equity theater an hour or so from our home. We hadn't heard anything, so we kinda forgot about it. But I recieved a phone call this evening from the theater that the director remembered her and wanted her to go back this Saturday for another audition. She is THRILLED about the opprotunity, but there is just one problem... She needs to perform a monolouge with a SOUTHERN accent. I am no actress by any means, so I am of no help to her. She has a mean english accent, but I have no idea how to help her with a southern one. The good thing is, if she hears a good one, she would be able to pick it up like that...

Do any of you know of anywhere online that she might be able to hear one or that givs a brief "tutorial" on how to speak with a southern accent? OMG, this is like a really rediculous request, but I really don't know who else to turn to, lol....

Do you have any ideas? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :O)
It really depends on the show in order to figure out which accent to use - where is the show based? There are so many southern accents out there -

Yet again you come through with so much faithfulness. :O)

I ended up taking her to see her acting teacher at the theater school she attends and man did that girl blow me away! I actually felt a little silly because he said ad no idea why I ssaid that she needed help as if he didn't know her, he wouldn't know that she was not from the south. lol... That just goes to show you why you should never underestimate your children. Just because they've never tried something, doesn't mean they can't do it. :O)

Anyhow, he audition is tomorrow afternoon. Not sure what will come of it, but she's just so excited that they called and said they remembered her and that they wanted to see her. Wish her a broken leg... lol

Thanks again! You guys never cease to amaze me with how supportive you all are. :O) --> I've moved on to that new smiley face, do you like it? I'm obsessed with it at the moment, lol.
