I'm going to see Andrea's cabaret act with Princess (an old poster from back in the day), her boyfriend and our mutual friend in New Hope, PA tonight. I'll post the set list, pics, etc. here tomorrow if y'all are interested. I understand Alexis is doing a number as well (I believe "On My Own" but we'll see).

Colleen, you were right about that theatre! It's gorgeous! I had never been in there before but they run a very classy establishment over there!

I'm so overtired, I'm trying to remember enough details about the show for all of you. She sang some old hits combined with some new ones. She is constantly revising the act, playing with what works, etc. so it's different every time. Of her standards, she did "I Dreamed a Dream," "NYC" (a great new arrangement with the opening chords of "New York, New York" intertwined), "Over the Rainbow," "Zing! With the Strings," "Everybody Says Don't," "You Could Drive a Person Crazy," "The Trolley Song," "Superstar" (the Karen Carpenter song) and, of course, "Tomorrow." She added some new Broadway tunes like "Some People" and "Married" as well as some pop stuff like Billy Joel's "Angry Man" and an inspirational ballad that I unfortunately don't know the title to. Alexis did not perform as she is home rehearsing her parts for the Rosie cruise, which departs from NYC tomorrow. I'm not sure what is on the docket for entertainment this year but I believe they're doing a gender-reversed "Chicago." Andrea's brother Michael was there though and he sang "Please Celebrate Me Home" (an old standard but it's now more known as the farewell song from this past season's "American Idol"). The concert had special importance to us because it was Princess's 22nd birthday this week and Andrea told the audience all about how she knows Princess and sang "Happy Birthday."

Who's playing tonight?:

Here's one pic Princess snapped of Andrea singing but the room was not lit well for photography and we figured the flash was rude so this is what we got:

The three of us at our table (poor Prin's boyfriend was the photog for most of the night!):

Soooooo Rach told me she had made a post about New Hope and I thought I'd share some more pictures as well! It was a fabulous show, Andrea sounded amazing as always. I got a special rendition of happy birthday from Andrea herself onstage which was a great surprise! It was kinda weird celebrating my 22nd because I realized that Andrea has known me since I was a scrawny 13 year old (those pictures I will NOT post!). The McArdles have always been the sweetest people ever and it's always nice getting to see them!

me and my boyfriend Carl (I dragged him but he secretly admitted to loving every second of the show)

we had a little too much fun with the photos

Well, I see she posted so I guess she did come back.

Prin and I both met Andrea when we were little girls...Prin was 12 or 13 and I was 14, I think (and, no, we won't be sharing the pics of us with our skinny legs, braces, etc). We met online (back in the old days of AOL, you could list your favorites in your profile and we both had Andrea listed amongst our favorite singers so we messaged back and forth) and then decided to meet up in real-life to see "Beauty and the Beast" at the Lunt-Fontanne. The rest, as they say, is history. Andrea's version of the story, as told to the audience on Friday, is that 2 little girls are in the audience but they're not little girls anymore. When they were little, they saw "Beauty and the Beast" like every month and she never knew how they got the money but they saved their pennies and we've all become great friends over the years and she is so proud of who they've become now that they're all grown up. And it's Princess's birthday and then she sang "Happy Birthday." We actually only saw "BATB" 3 or 4 times but I guess we were so bothersome that it seemed like we saw it every month! LOL. Just kidding. It was actually more that we went to other things during that time period too, like the BC/EFA events, her Christmas show, etc. that sort of supplemented our "Beauty" viewings.

Prin and I have become really good friends as a result, going on vacation together and stuff, and our parents know each other and it's all kismet.
