Troublesome Endeavor part 1 -http://z8.invisionfree.com/Anime_Red/in ... =2311&st=0

Issac the wolf had huffed toward the question Delilah indirectly posed him, one relating to how he planned to take on a full bandwagon of vicious pigs in a proverbial slaughter house of scum. "I will deal with them very delicately." His reply was nothing if not for his expression, for the therapudically charming wolf had not cracked his knuckles, nor remained emotionless. Instead, he fancied Romana a gallant, yet similarly conniving smile. Quite the expression on his face, similar to the dealer of a blackjack table. Almost as if he had been in this situation before, if Romana or Delilah were to read too heavily into it . Or perhaps not. The wolf retained his mysteries.

Similarly, Romana had her own plan without the need to lean on the gentleman's arm with the weight of a burder. Throwing Isaac's reassurances out the window, the daemoness'd dragoness equal parts blew off the skunkish idiot hitting on her and equal parts laughed in the face of danger. Her time was meant to be in the action, not quivering from it. T'was not her character.

The decision to find the bar caught Isaac off his pace for half a step. He shifted casually from a need to escort her to saftey whilst he took care of the mess to turning on his heel towards their new intention. "Well then, bar it is."

Thus it was the two stepped through the snake's den to the one bartender worth any hint of grounding - of sanity. Isaac rolled his knuckles on the bar's counter without a care in the world that they were sitting near an entirely too drunk coyote on side and ugly as sin toad on the other. "Furly Temple, please. And my lady of the evening would like..." He turned to Romana, handing her the lead if she ever so wished.

Romana heeded the demoness' fear, and tried to keep her wits a bit more about her self. She still had a part to play though, and with a hip sway that clearly said the wolf on her arm was hers? She sat at the bar as Isaac ordered. When it came her turn?

"Wine, one glass, darkest red you have."

She said it to Isaac directly, but with a wink and a nod, smiled at the bartender with just a hint of interest in her voice as she had done so.

She did not seem to notice, despite her trying to keep track of herself. Still, she was acting like the fine lady she appeared to be. At least, that's the likely conclusion of the sort of usual goers this bar would get.

No further peeps from the demoness were heard as Romana and Isaac went up to the bar.

If the possessed woman had been on the lookout for any strange feelings stealing over her, it wouldn't come in any form she was likely expecting. Rather, she would only feel herself slipping rather readily into the role she needed to play. Thoughts of danger and worry for missing friends would find themselves pushed to the side all too easily to focus on the task at hand.

The words dripped from her lips like honey laced with something illicit, as she grazed the bartender with eyes of luminous amber.

Not quite smoldering, per se, but holding the promise of that if certain parties played their cards right.

Toward dear Romana's stunningly titillating request, the bartender hesitated in pulling out the appropriate drinking glasses, put on a sweat, but altogether - withholding the deepest of breaths - held his ground. He was good, this man; He was prepared for anything. However his eyes had stayed upon Romana a few lingering seconds longer than necessary as he muted a note in response. Likewise, his attempt to pull away from her to get the wine had been met with trial.

Isaac had not been as prepared as the bartender. He performed an award-winning double take upon Romana's request for wine. His thoughts earlier had swum around the idea of dealing with the boars not far way. Currently they were caught off guard by his guest.

Staring. Isaac was staring.

He pointed at her. "You," His voice quieter than it should be, and entitled to grave, stoic natures all the same. "and your new partner are a dangerous combo."

"HAHAHAAA!" Kink! Thump! One of the boars slapped down half a chicken upon a table three steps away from reach and grabbed his mug of ale so violently it nearly knocked half said table down. His face had been spattered with all manners of grease and pulp, and with a thrumbling snort he continued. "You should've seen his face when I grabbed the gun! He was worried I was gunna smack the stripes right off his tail! And I did! But that fur bastard had some good 'fo."

A tall glass of colorful autumn splendor caught Isaac's eye and was enough to pull it away from Romana's soft, red lips. He had enough time to take in Romana's new glass of wine, which was near black in coloration until held up to the light, where it held a crimson contrast, before clearing his head enough with the liquor to comment again. "What is your plan?" He asks.

The smile that the bartenders reaction got him was more than enough to illustrate just how inwardly happy Romana was with the reaction. The tiny flutter of her wing edges at Isaac's quiet speakings was also just a sign of how much she was enjoying herself.

When he asked her what her plan was? She grinned as evilly as Delilah would likely let her.

"I plan on listening, looking like a great big pile of eye candy, and only asking a question if I get asked one. I suggest you ask a few yourself, maybe about helping me find a long lost sister or somesuch? Betwene you asking the questions and me just keeping only the most open of ears I think we can cover just about everything really."

She stated all of that rather quietly as she had leaned in to Isaac.

She raised the red glass to her lips and sipped gently, nodding in approval to the bartender, as she leaned back in her seat.

The only restraints Romana would feel on her sense of satisfaction at the recent successes was the dim feeling that the hunt was not yet finished, and it was too soon to act like the cat that caught the canary.

For a hunt this was, said an instinct very much akin to certain latent draconic instincts she felt at times. There would be time to glory in the catch; for now, focus on the chase.

Her evil smile was moderated only by a smoky wink at Isaac. The instincts also told her there was no reason not to broadcast to her lupine counterpart that he could also be part of the 'catch' if his cards were played right. Any genuine interest on her part could be decided later, but any interest of his would only be an asset to her goals in the present.

Isaac the magnificent wolf had performed to his greatest degree to avoid direct eye contact with his occupied lady guest and her illustrious winking. He had known quite well what lay proactively inside Romana the sorceress and what may entail in a literal deal with a devil. Though absently the wolf had wondered to himself, over his slim glass of FurleyTemple, how much of this act was genuinely Romana at that point in time and not coerced.

"I see." He said in curt response, revoking half of his glass of its contents in a single move. Yes, Isaac may need that liquor to loosen his nerves for what would come next.

"I SAID!" A boar shouted loud enough for the city block to hear, "Duh Lady Can't Be In Sector 3! We would've heard 'bout it! Besides, I swear I smelt her round here. Who else uses dat perfuum?"

"Then where else can we look? Where does a chick in bright red mockers and half a bird on her hat go? I'm saying she's gotta pipe down. There's no way she's out of town. Whoever's after her would keep lookouts at the outs."

A third biker boar snuffed the meat straight off of a chicken's thigh in one quick swipe, chewing it with flourish and swallowing the hefty morsel with a swig of his ale. "Then where's she? A perfume store? You want us to hoof it by foot? Is that it? I aint leavin Besty alone in this area. She'd get nabbed or knocked."

None of the boars had taken notice of Romana, nor her beauty. Clearly they were too pig-headed to get past their current issue. That did not, however, reflect upon the entire tavern as a whole. Ruffians pooled out from various crevices and cracks of the building towards the sight of a dashing beauty such as the draconic damsel at the bar. At first the bartender had been able to ward them off with a look, or a glare at the worst. But that did not stop the tide from its eventual flow.

Very quickly, Romana would find herself the object of affection of a sleezing mole rat like creation most foul, and behind him a two-legged slug anthropomorph with clubs for arms. A shark antho with an eyepatch and set of knives tucked under his jacket pushed them aside to sit up nice and tight to her. "What's about we go see a movie? Ever seen The Brining?" His smile was a touch more intimidating with the tooth rot and gold crowns. "How's about, hottie?"

"Besty." Isaac said, cleaving the entire table's conversation of bikers in two. They stopped their talk and turned to witness the sharp wolf, who had not turned towards them. Honestly, to the boars the name could have come from anyone around Romana except herself.

Isaac turned not towards the boars, but the shark. "What Are You Doing To My Lover?!" He abruptly howled aloud, grabbing the shark's wrist and - previous to the ruffian even knowing what hit him - slipping himself between the two and tossing the gilled one over his shoulder into a newly crushed bar stool. Without skipping a beat he pointed at the slug and molerat accusingly and grit his teeth. "Where do you get off hitting on a girl that lost her sister? She said red cloak. She doesn't care what red marks you have on you!"

"Did he say red cloak?" One of the boars said as Isaac seemed too busy antagonizing ruffians to answer them. Another boar stood.

The small 'enhancements' to her actions and desires did not go unnolticed, nor unappreciated, by Romana. She actually felt slightly giddy as she sipped again from the glass. Unfortunately, as every hunt can have interlopers, so did this one. Her grimace at the slugman and others was obvious.

The shark at least made sense, in her mind at least. She did have the tail of a mako... She only half smiled at him. "I'm sorry. I have my pre-mate and lover here you see. Im quite wo..."

Then Isaac brilliantly broke into his show and Romana played right along. Nodding, her eyes getting so big and tear-filled, like she was truly nervous for her poor sister!

"I... I just really want to find her! She'd be so alone in a big city like this. So in danger!"

It did help that, while she knew Echo could handle the occasional interference, a city like this one was trying for anybody non-local. probably a good few of them too!

Despite her personal feelings on the matter, Romana's face was careful not to betray any disgust at the… unlikely suitors that stepped up to the plate. Not while they could be potential assets.

Her demeanor switched perfectly in time with Isaac's over-the-top reaction. There were men out there who could resist the sultry act she was putting on, but there was one thing no red-blooded man could resist.

A smoking-hot damsel in distress.

It would no doubt be an odd feeling from Romana's viewpoint to experience the eye-watering, chest-heaving physiological symptoms on the outside, while feeling calm and focused on the inside.

Thus the shark had been launched. His spurting growls of confusion and consternation soon muted when Isaac turned back to kick him well enough in the side. "And that was for dropping a tooth in her wine!" Romana's romantic partner was doing well playing his part. Maybe a little too well. T'would not be too forward a thought to assume her manipulatively ravishing beauty had an effect on him as much as the other men.

The wolf's brazen attitude had not been the only attention-gathering display of the evening at Ruffian's. Now the damsel obligingly lost herself to a cascading waterfall of dragon tears. Her own act, assisted by the demon's attentions, had been far harder to ignore. Especially so for one pack of testosterone fueled pigs.in leather.

Whilst Isaac threw himself at the slug on the other side of the dragoness, his free hand brushing Romana's in a dance that spun her her away from the bar counter and in the direction of the audience, she would notice through her outpouring need to find her sister that one had stood and was sauntering up to them.

"S'cuse me, lady." The boar said - trying his best to be as gentlemanly as a grease-snuffing, hooved disaster of society could - "Me and the boyz went and over hurd you." He gestured to everyone at the one table, who were watching her in various paused positions of eating. "If ya ever want help, I'm say'n. ... Ya know. We'd be willin to assist. If'n ya let us know more about your sista."

If Romana could not tell, Delilah could. The boar was one sight smarter than he showed example towards. He wanted to know what Romana knew. There was nothing to stand in his way, either. Especially since Isaac was giving them both room in his fit of aggression at the slug.
