AMAC/905 Squadron MAY Float Fly

Our first Float-Fly for 2017 is scheduled for Saturday May 27 with a rain date for Sunday May 28 if the weather is bad for Saturday.

Date change will be announced here on this thread, so please check here Saturday morning if the weather looks questionable.

The site is private property, but we have permission to use the site. There is an adjacent parkette that we can use to park our planes. Bring a lawn chair and/or picnic blanket. This is a quaint little site.

There will be NO recovery boat available. If anyone has a kayak or inflatable you can bring, please let us know here or email me (club president) so we can let everyone else know.

For news, updates and discussion on this event, or if we cancel due to rain, check in and post your comments here on this thread

WHERE: Musselman Lake; 14821 Ninth Line
WHEN: Saturday May 27 (CHECK THESE FORUMS for rain date cancellation!)

Please note: There will be no parking available at the site itself, but there is parking on the north side of the adjacent street “Churchill Drive East”

Thank you 905squadron to organize the float flying event. Sorry to cut short and only able to fly in a very short time. It was perfect weather yesterday. No wind, the lake is calm. Unfortunately, family called in the last minute that I cannot stay long. Hopefully next month I can stay a bit longer.

Over the winter, I built the FliteTest SeaDuck. (you can download their plan from their website or like me buy their kit and electronics which is now available in Great Hobbies). I programmed it with Differential thrust which makes the water taxiing and tight turns super easy. (The plane itself has Elevator, Aileron and Throttle, no rudder. Runs on 4S 2200mah). Here is the footage I took (you can mute the music)

BTW, I noticed this year there are NO PARKING signs along the Churchill Drive East. The parking space is getting limited now. In the future, where can we park our cars?

It was a great day to fly, even though it was cloudy.
Winds were calm and lake was like glass. It was awesome!!

I loved the way your plane flew, Oscar. Great video :)

I'm not sure about the signs, Oscar. I will look into it and get back to you and everyone else about options
