Shuttle time - top sprayed white, patch masked, then sprayed again with a white - grey mix:

A pleasingly patch result obtained (doesn't show too well in this photo). The casing over the engine doesn't fit too well, so some fettling will be required, before decaling:

Discovery post decals and a spray of Tamiya Flat Clear. A very tired kit, saved by a superb and imaginative decal sheet, including cockpit surrounds, etc. Still let down by the tail cone, which simply does not fit. To anyone else attempting this model, I would suggest forgetting the prototype, and building the model with the engines exposed (the parts are good), and leaving the cone off.

I'm pleased with the patchy, grubby effect achieved. If you really went to town with the patch masking method I used, you'd achieve an excellent result. Will attach to the 747 SCA during my next modelling evening.

Aah memories, my seat was 3D, (3rd window, on the Starboard side), (my avatar, is in the cockpit after my flight, across the Atlantic).

Their last day in service, and I was driving a train across South London. A five minute pause at Herne Hill station, gave me the opportunity to witness three Concordes circling in a holding pattern. A never to be repeated experience.
Cockpit:

She's going to be a monster!

Another new project - Revell Fokker DR1 in 1/28th:

Now just what shade(s) of red was the infamous 425/17?
So much froth and wibble online about this!

I guess it depends on how much sun, has faded the red TD. Great story, about the Concordes, pity, they did not keep just one flying, (Richard Branson, wanted to buy one just for that).

Not sure I would have wanted Branson anywhere near anything so iconic as Concorde!
She's grown some more though. Some filling required around the wing roots, but nothing like as bad as my previous vintage Revell offering:

Engines and undercarriage parts reminiscent of Matchbox kits of old. "Moulded in three colours - no painting necessary!" (but an absolute pig to cover these colours up with something more subtle!
