Now, you should consider building some of those American Cranes on a 6x6 truck, with cab of the Bucyrus. With your abilities, I know that would be an excellent model, as always.(I mean the Crane, Truck Mounted, GED 6x6, 20 ton capacity )

I think the GED was post-war which is not my period but I do have a Brockway B666 Quickway Crane on my to-do list.....just need suitable wheels.
Below is the Brockway B666 Bridge Erector I did some time ago.

Neil

Yes, I saw it some minutes ago when I was looking at your portfolio, Neil. It was another excellent model.
I've seen you always put your models on a wooden base, with an engraved brass plate. A very nice way to show them! Do you have glass shelves to put the models?

Thanks.....the name plates are simply photo paper with the description printed on which I do in Word and cut out. I keep them in a some display cabinets I have.

Thanks, Mike.....I just completed a Milicast Scammell R100 towing a Bull Models QF 6” 26cwt Howitzer which was inspired by a photo of the same combination in Libya in 1941. The Scammell was OOB while the howitzer did have a few additions including a new draft connector and sighting device. The Caunter scheme seemed to be non-standard at least on the nearside and there was a lot of back and forth with Mike Starmer who kindly did a coloured impression of what it looked like. Dave Rhodes also gave some input to the colours as well but finally, we agreed to what you see on the model. Mike’s thought was that there had been some damage to the nearside resulting in some quick overpainting with the colours at hand and didn’t include the darker Slate Grey as it should have had. The identity of the regiment was also an issue and Dan Taylor and Dave Rhodes again were solicited for input. Regimental histories show that the 7th Medium Regiment were in the area at the time and were equipped with the 6” howitzers so it is assumed this is the regiment using the AoS 32. No other markings are evident on the vehicle and positive ID was not possible. The model depicts the unit layed up on a desert highway in Libya in February 1941 with the crew taking a break. Note the missing windscreen which had been removed to presumably improve air-flow into the vehicle.
My thanks to Mike, Dave and Dan for their time and input.
Cheers,
Neil

Thank you both Steve and Neil and your reference to "museum" is timely as I just had all 20 of my Canadian vehicles accepted into the Regimental Museum of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters in Barrie, Ontario on permanent display.

Cheers,

Neil

I have been busy for a few months doing some masters but lately I did a little project of a Diamond T981 of 373rd TT Coy RASC with a Buffalo LVT IV of the 4th RTR. Thanks to Les Freathy for the DT, soft cab conversion and many photos, Ted Angus for assisting with proper ID and markings and Dave Rhodes for his great input along the way. The DT is Matchbox/Revell, with soft cab conversion and the Buffalo is a gussied up Airfix. Figures are Milicast. Decals are from Aleran and Mike Starmer.
Cheers,
Neil
