My version built out of the box.  It builds into a nice rendition with some work.

Very well done! :clapping: I like the hand painted 'kill' marks on 88's barrel.

Here's my second attempt at this one using the upgrade kit from Matador Models, plus a few bits and pieces from the spares box:

Its always a problem with German Half-tracks to know what colour to paint the canvas tilt. References differ!
Nothing makes me more mad than people's models that are better than mine, which happens quite often I can tell you, especially those 1/72 scale kits where the crew members have real clothes, and perhaps a moustache made of real hair! Lol.

I'd think that full-scale tilts would also vary, particularly if 2 vehicles, one originally intended for the Ostfront and the other for the Afrika Korps, were to finish up in the same unit in France or Italy.
"Is there anything I can do to help you?"
"Yes. Give me a staffel of Spitfires!"

Perversely there is also evidence of Half-Tracks intended for the Ostfront ending up in North Africa and vice versa. And as for the tilt cover it would fade with time so that will add a few other colour options.

Excellent result!

In theory at least, I believe German softskin tilts were the same color as the vehicle. So dark grey, possibly with crew applied disruptive camo, before February 1943 and for new vehicles dunkelgelb, again sometimes with disruptive camo, afterwards. Pre-1943 dark grey vehicles repainted in dunkelgelb often seem to have the tilt left as dark grey, as shown here. The canvas tended to fade faster than the paint though. Mind you, color photos from 1940 do show a variety of colors in use, not just dark grey, especially on pre-war commercial vehicles pressed into service.
