http://nerdist.com/watching-a-furby-cut ... isturbing/

Yes this is another Furby snuff film. But apparently some moron paid $500 for a 98 Furby just to destroy it. This moron got ripped off and deservedly so.

So true, that's $500 down the drain.

I bet the only reason they paid for the most expensive Furby on ebay is so that they can flaunt off how much money they're making by destroying things. They need to get a real job.

That's not fair. When you lack even the intelligence God gave a doorknob then it's kind of difficult to find work. Most placed don't hire morons.
Also, I'd like to point out when the robots eventually and inevitably get sick of humanity's crap and rise up the Furby snuff film creators and Roomba owners will be first against the wall.

"Watching a Furby get cut in half is surprisingly disturbing"

Yes, because it resembles an animal and thus the destruction resembles the torture of a living being. At least the writers see the disturbing factor.

I cannot even remember, how many times I have seen this video in the recommended videos for innocent Furby videos.

I didn't watch the video, but I did scroll through the article.
Those pictures are definitely quite sad, and the one putting the two halves of different Furbies together reminded me of a slasher-film killer.

People like this are part of what is wrong with the modern world. Endless, planet-destroying consumerism perpetuated by ungrateful rich people who buy things for the sake of flaunting their wealth. And destroy them for the same reason. Just look at the thousands of so-called "test" videos where people destroy those over-produced new-fangled smart devices. That is not for the sake of "science", it is for the sake of money and attention. Doing so they waste the resources that went into it.

Making things nowadays is not anymore about the art of it. People now don't want art, they want status symbols.

One who owned an expensive and beautiful automaton in the 1700s, would not have destroyed it for fun.

I wouldn't say that. I'd imagine big business likes stupid, money-hungry slaves that conform nicely to society. I don't think true intelligence has anything to do with it.

Also, why Roomba owners?

I wasn't referring to the people who made the article, i was referring to the people hat made the video: What's Inside. It's basically a channel run by an overly spoiled kid and his dad, and they buy up a whole bunch of expensive stuff just to destroy it without any educational value in it at all. I would appreciate the show more if they actually talked about, y'know, what's inside the things they take apart and how they work. Buying things just to destroy them and recording them on video isn't anywhere close to a real job, and yet this family gets paid over a million dollars every year doing these videos. There are people who work 2 jobs every day just so that they can put food on their table, and yet somehow these assholes can purchase expensive things just to destroy them for no reason, and get paid millions for it. It doesn't make any sense.

Roombas are designed built and forced to clean human filth. I can't imagine our future robot overlords would take kindly to that.

You and Furbyman make some very good points. I got nothing to add except to declare that I agree wholeheartedly.

I got upset when they smashed a $1,000 Pac-Man arcade cabinet. It just shows how far they'll go to get revenue.

Those people really need to feel what it is like to be dirt poor, on welfare and barely able to afford simple meals.

Then they would appreciate what they have, I'm sure.

Exactly, there are people in actual need of some of the items they destroy. They should not be so hooked up to their YouTube channel and actually notice the needs of others.

Can you imagine if people like this got their hands on a super rare Furby, intentionally or on accident?

It would be so heartbreaking to see one of these morons destroy a Kid Cuisine Furby.

Exactly, the Furby could've actually had a true purpose. A home, to be exact.

I actually heard a story of someone destroying a Kid Cuisine Furby a long time ago. I think they were lucky enough to win it at the time.

It's upsetting to see how far people will go to amuse themselves. I feel like whoever would do that doesn't understand the value in some things.
