ok so,
the poor furbies might just be dead but im not giving up hope for a solution quite yet
so, my mom purchased some new in box 1998 furbies off of E-bay and so far only 2 have ended up working (a Royal Furb and Millennium Furb if you're interested in the types?)
the other 5 she had purchased showed no signs of working, and i tried every tip i know to get them working (batteries were also new, my parents just bought them)
i do know you can get the motor running by taking the furby apart but i dont think my parents would be down with doing that
i just want to be very sure the non-working furbies are truly dead and not just comatose somehow
i have tried pumping the ears/ eye lids however that did not give any results
i did read that you can move a gear that is found just behind the top half of the beak however since these furbies have never ran before, their mouths are stuck open so there is no way for me to try that method
if any information on this can be given (even just saying that there's no hope for them haha), that'd be great, im still new to furbies (i got my first one between a month and 2 months ago) so im not sure if this issue can be fixed somehow or if the furbies are gone with no hope of starting them up
ill surely still love the nonworking ones, however my family is disappointed that the NIB furbies do not work and i wanna be completely sure theres no solution
to anybody who can & does give me any information on this subject, thanks! any information at all will surely help in the future!

update: I was able to get one furby working (Wizard Furby) by smacking his bottom and pressing his reset button. I plan on trying this method on all the other furbies, but if it doesnt work id love to try other methods!

update 2: that method ended up working for all the nonworking furbies! who would've known haha ?!

Hello and nice to hear that method worked for you! I would have suggested trying exactly what you did. I find very rarely a Furby that is truly dead...usually, you can get them to work again using different techniques.
I’ve been collecting for 2 years now and only have 1 Furby that is not responding to any method you mentioned. I’ll find out why when I skin him to have a better look at his insides.
Your parents bought you 7 NIB Furbys from eBay? That’s very nice of them!
