Now that we are in the new year, and the Masters is on the radar... at least it is for me, is it time to start/add to a wishlist for I'm sure is the upcoming 2018 version of APC Golf....
If memory serves, it is usually out around the Masters.

1) I'd love to see Highlights have choices that can be selected by us.  Maybe x burdies in a row, x under par, drive over xxx yds, etc, etc.

2) I suck at the short game.  As much as I try, I can't get a handle on the pitch, flop, lob stuff.  Wonder if the same club selection used for every other shot can be used for the short game, or at least have the option. Maybe bunker shots be selectable as high and soft, low and roll, etc... or have I just really not gotten a grip on the short game and its all in there already???

3) knowledge of what my opponent did with his putt before I have to putt. I almost always play 2 or 3 man events, stroke and match play. There are times when I putt second, but I don't know what my opponent did with his putt... did he hole it, run it 5' by, left it 1' and marked.   It would be helpful so I could make a more informed choice whether to be aggressive, lag, take a normal stroke at it...

Also, be able to set up "tournaments" with only 2 guys.  Seems I need 3 guys to do it, unless I'm playing "casual" rounds.

The short game is already kinda configurable.  "Low and roll" is a "pitch" or "chip" from the bunker, "high and soft" is a lob from the bunker.  Remember...the default "aiming line" is just that...the default.  It's a pretty conservative aiming device.  You can get more aggressive if you like by changing the target line/distance.  Just be aware that if your player "mishits" at all, you run the risk of being in much worse position than you would have been otherwise.  The "%" lie indicator in the sand matters.

The game is already fantastic, so don't want to nit-pick really. I have noticed on occasion the AI has difficulty getting out of the trees. Sometimes a simple sideways punch shot would do the trick to regain good fairway position & is the obvious choice. The AI though seems to plot a direct line to the hole and use up another 3 or 4 shots hacking through the trees. I notice this more when I 'sim' the hole and then see that a particular player achieved a high score. When reviewing what the player under AI control did, it becomes apparent. Augusta National is a course this happens on a lot...had scores of 12 & 13 for various holes....no Green Jacket for that!

IanHG,
Wonder if the AI can be set up in default with toggles to change preferences.  Aggressive driver/neutral/cautious, etc, etc

An adjustable AI is not a bad idea...but if you're replaying a tournament or a season with full fields and are simulating a large portion of it, it would need to be for every golfer which would kind of defeat the object as all players approach the game in their own unique way. The ratings in the game for each player already gives them that individuality and I am happy with them. It's been mentioned before on here concerning the AI not adapting in certain 'situations' which leads to repetitive shots into water or thrashing through trees. I'm pretty sure that Ryan will be looking at this aspect anyway for the new edition, perhaps it just needs a small tweak here and there.

IanHG, I see your point.
I usually play 3-man or 2-man events.
I'll select 81 players, then 27, 3-man events, stroke play, single elimination.
Or 32 players, then a 2-man event, stroke play, single elimination.
I'll alternate w the AI every 3 holes, so I end up playing 9, and the AI plays 9.
I've thought about playing both players.  Lots of fun competing v the AI.
Yesterday, I played Smylie Kaufman v David Duval.  David is my favorite player after Jack, so I try different scenarios when he plays.
For the match w Smylie, I played Smylie and let the AI play David. It was at K-Club.  One of my favorite courses.  Smylie beat him easily 68(-4)  to 73(+1) David never challenged.
The other day, Justin Thomas, played by the AI 3-putts from 9' on the 18th hole to lose by a shot to Patrick Reed @ Sea Island (another great course).
68(-2) to 69(-1).  It was JT's only bogey of the round. I was a bit stunned.  Guess it CAN happen.  Just don't expect it from JT. Did the AI get aggressive on the 9'er to leave 3' left?? I don't know!!!
BTW, Smylie won my last 2-man event.  Go Figure!!!
He just seems to play well.
Like the '74 Dodgers on the APC baseball side. I managed against them losing w my '95 Indians and '54 Indians.  Currently, the '75 Reds are getting pasted.  I play best of 21 Super Series.

Would love to see up-to-the-moment Hole stats for the entire tournament, not just for "today."

For me the game is already fantastic.  Would like to see ability to do printouts without having to use screen saver pics.

Not possible I guess...but a little script audio on each play would be super excellent.
TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. ADJUST ACCORDINGLY.

Real-life golf broadcasts don't have much in the way of "play by play".  So if not that...what would you want?
