Purpose of this blog... The purpose of this blog is to post baseball cards to be used with ActionPC's 2017 Baseball Projection Disk.  A lot of us like the feeling of cards displaying when we play our games.  This only enhances the "playability" and brings us back to the day when we were opening packs of cards...minus the stale gum of course.

Most of the photos used to make the cards were taken by me at Spring Training and MLB games over the past 2 seasons.  It brings a real smile to my face to use my own pictures as part of this project.  I plan on posting it team by team and adding players as they join the roster or get traded.  I'll even post a link to d/l the full set and each monthly update.

Below is a sample of a picture and a card.  The first is a raw photo.  The second is that photo touched up for the hi-def process and the 3rd is the actual card.

2017 LAA Angels Most of these photos were taken during the no-hitter thrown vs the Mariners on March 24, 2017 in Tempe Diablo Stadium.  Here is the boxscore for anyone interested in viewing it.  I sat on the 1st base line about 4-5 rows off the dugout, which gave me an incredible angle to shoot the RH batters and LH pitchers.  This was my final night in Phoenix.  The Angels used 8 pitchers to secure the no-no.  The 9th inning was incredible as the Halos made 3 great fielding plays in what seemed like a regular season game.

Here are the cards for their opening day 25 man roster:

2017 SEA Mariners I got to see the Mariners in Arizona twice.  Once in Scottsdale vs the Giants on 3/23 (see boxscore) and the following night (3/24) in Tempe where they were no-hit by 8 Angels pitchers.

2017 OAK A's On March 20th, 2017, my 2nd day in Phoenix, I got to see the A's vs the Dbacks in Hohokam Stadium in Mesa.  Best part of the whole experience was this great stir fry truck that made this fabulous noodles/veggie thing.  For the life of me I forgot the name of the vendor, but the food was awesome.  We got there early and I shot about 300 pics of the Dbacks, because they were working out right in front of us on the 3rd base line.  The only shots of the A's, that I got, were taken during the game.  Lighting wasn't fantastic.  Dbacks won 10-6 thanks to a 5 run 8th where they tagged Ross Detwiler for all of the runs.  Here's the boxscore for that game.

2017 Texas Rangers On Tuesday March 21, 2017 we ventured out to Surprise, AZ to see the Chisox vs the Rangers (Texas was home).  What a fun day.  Took a lot of pics and even met HOF'er Fergie Jenkins, who we hung out with for about 20 minutes.  Fergie signed a Cubs hat for me for a donation to his foundation (only $28).  We saw most of the star player in this one for 5 innings, then the minor leagues came on board.

Here is the boxscore:  http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/boxscore?id=68146

2017 LA Dodgers I arrived in Phoenix at 9:30am local time.  Met up with my cousin and headed over to Camelback Ranch to see the Dodgers take on Team Japan.  It was a sweltering 95 degrees, which felt like 120 since I left 55 degree weather in NYC just 6 hour earlier.  After about 4 innings in our seats (4 rows off the Dodger dugout) we had to head for the shade.  Many of the regulars weren't even suited up to play.  The highlight of the day was seeing Don Newcombe throw out the first pitch and Tommy Lasorda stroll in from the bullpen to the dugout.  Here's the boxscore for that game.
