CYA 98s putting in the time in the summer with 100% participation and a band of brothers being formed. Don't be surprised to see these hard working boys tops in Illinois this year. Detroit will be tough but having a winning record against them is our goal. Keep working CYA! The season is right around the corner.

Please, stop with the '98 CYA propoganda bullshit. They will not beat the Mission and will not win one game against any of the Detroit teams. The only games they will win will be against House League TI and Fury! I bet they will not even beat the '98 Central States Blues.

98 Blues team is said to be stacked. CYA will not be able to beat them.

Nice try by someone not on CYA posting that crap to start this. Anyone on the team knows there have been many missing this summer for other things going on. So post was by someone who is not in the know.

previous messages by above poster on complete hockey are below. Sounds like someone with a midget and a younger player at the Blues, who maybe didn't make CYA this year. Who could that be?

If your son is not playing AAA by his Midget year, then it is going to be very, very difficult for them to advance to the higher levels. There are some exceptions, but for the most part, AAA helps opens doors to better opportunities. However, if you wait to play AAA at the start of Midgets, it will be very difficult to even make a Midget AAA team if your son has not played AAA at the lower levels like PW or Bantams. It seems that reputation, especially here in Chicago, is everything. The only way I see a kid making a AAA team his mm year and never playing AAA before hand is if he totally dominated at the AA level scoring 3 or 4 goals a game minimum.

Stick with AA. Besides a couple good HS programs, Illinois HS hockey stinks!

You are absolutely correct! Mission will be the only competitive Chicago team and the rest (CYA and TI) are Central States at best. The argument that you will be playing great competition every weekend doesn't hold water anymore. Losing 10, 12, or 15 zip doesn't help anybody. Especially the team that's putting double digits up on the score board against your AAA wannabes players and parents. Chin up little buckaroos!!!

CS Bantam Minor is looking to be a horrible year. Besides Blues, there doesn't look like there will be any other strong teams unless you count all the Fury rejects that will be playing for the Vikings.
