Would just like to report that at 8 PM on June 21st, I summited Mount McKinley (AKA Denali, The Great One) completing my 50 state highpointing journey.

That is all.

Thanks Steve!

Also, for anyone who is interested, I posted a photo trip report over on the Mountains'n'Stuff site for distinguished mountaineers.

Thanks so much other Mark! You have got to get there. You totally have this mountain in you.

As for the TR, if you haven't already, you should take a look at the link to my Mountains'n'Stuff thread that I posted. Has a bunch of photos, my 50-state write-up and an eight minute long video posted by one of my rope-mates.

Not really sure I see myself doing the old on-line trip report for this one though. I'm feeling kind of over that sort of thing. Might do an article to the effect of "Denali - The Guided Experience" that could be of interest to you. But it probably won't be for at least a few weeks. Maybe longer.

Still basking in the glow of it all.

Way to go. I got 2 left but wouldn't even attempt Alaska. I don't have it in me. Maybe... .

Wish I had it in me to try Denali one day (after #49, Granite).

At 54 years old, I doubt I could do Denali. In fact, I'm sure I can't. But... I never thought I could do more than 40 HP's as I'm terrified of heights.

Don't let your age dissuade you from attempting Mount McKinley. My partner was 78 when we climbed it a couple years ago. The average age of our three-person team was over 60.

I didn't realize it was possible to do it at this age. Thanks for that info.
