The body of Wade Brunette was found at about 12:45 p.m. local time on October 31. His pack had been found on the west side of the ridge, between Trail Crest and the Mt. Whitney summit. His body was found on the east side, location not specified, by a dog team. No cause of death has been determined.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the Brunette family.

One of the world's great mountaineers. RIP.

"LJUBLJANA, Slovenia (AP) - A veteran Slovenian climber was found dead in the Himalayas Saturday days after he was injured and stranded on a 23,710-foot (7,227-meter) mountain, a mountain rescue company and a close friend said.

Gerold Biner, flight operations manager for the respected Swiss Air Zermatt company, said that Tomaz Humar's body was recovered early Saturday by a three-man rescue team.

"They called me ... to tell me the rescue mission was over," Biner said.

Humar, 40, last contacted his base on Monday to say that he was injured while climbing Langtang Lirung."
