His control over his person, his property, his movements, his business, his desires should be restrained only so far as the public welfare imperatively demands. The world is in more danger of being governed too much than too little.
It is the teaching of all history that liberty can only be preserved in small areas. Local self-government is, therefore, indispensable to liberty. A centralized and distant bureaucracy is the worst of all tyranny.
Taxation can justly be levied for no purpose other than to provide revenue for the support of the government. To tax one person, class or section to provide revenue for the benefit of another is none the less robbery because done under the form of law and called taxation."

Nice idea, although I though we were pushing the J frames quite hard, so low level maritime ops aren't going to help us in fatigue terms. Mind you, we tend to be over cautious with the hours index so there may be plenty of room in there.
Main issue is that the UK's biggest gap is ASW, not surface search. While the Sentry can't give the resolution of a dedicated maritime platform, it is better than nothing. If we are going to get back into the MPA world it has to be ASW capable. The main reason for having it will be SSBN protection.
It will need a brand new funding line to start a MPA procurement, and I can't see where the cash is going to come from for it. Chances are the first time it gets seriously looked at is when it comes up in a 'Lessons Identified' section.
Some of the turboprop transports seem lacking in weapons carriage. Then again, this is contingent on individual needs. The C-130J's versatality and ruggedness is its advantage. There's also Bombardier's Q400 MPA.
