IRHN 9396 Laser Target Pointer
Operation:
ASELSANs IRHN-9396 provides a rapid, accurate aim point for professional engaged in night operations. The IRHN-9396 does this by projecting an intense continuous IR laser beam which night vision goggles. Once it is boresighted to a weapon, the operator simply puts the laser beam on target and fires. The IRHN has a range up to 2500m and accuracy equivalent to the finest optical sights. The range of the IRHN-9396 makes it well sutted for sniper action, target designation, secure communications and airborne applications.
Performance:
ASELSANs IRHN-9396 incorporates an advanced laser and precision optics in a diffraction-limited optical system to produce a distinct round aim spot. The near perfect collimation of the laser beam results in constant aim spot size over the entire IRHN-9396 range.
Features:
ASELSANs IRHN-9396 has been engineered for durability and ease of use. The advanced design incorporating state-of-the-art materials is exceptionally light, yet rugged enough to withstand repeated drops from over 1.2 meters. Activation of the IRHN-9396 is by an economically-designed thumb switch with momentary and full on positions. An integral battery compartment accommodates two universally available AA batteries. Precise azimuth & elevation adjustment is incorporated in the IRHN-9396.
Visual Security:
Advanced optical design and unique optical baffle reduce off axis detectability to degrees greater than or equal to 9 degree and preclude the IRHN-9396 laser beam from being seen by others using Night Vision Devices. The optical baffle is screwed on to the front of the Aiming Light.

Laser Range Finding Systems
The LH-7800 Laser Range Finder is a hand-held instrument intended for use by infantry units, with the weight size and shape of 7X50 binocular. The instrument can range at targets from 150 m to 9995 m with accuracy of  5m.
It is electro-optical instrument whose operation is based on an echo principle employing an infrared light pulse of high intensity. When the instrument is triggered, this short invisible light pulse is transmitted along a very narrow path. On hitting a target a small portion of the transmitted light is reflected back along the path towards the instrument where it passes through an optical systems to a receiver. The range of the target is determined by the time interval elapsed from the moment of transmission of the pulse to the moment of the returned echo from the target.
The unit can also be mounted on a lightweight tripod and goniometer in order to obtain elevation and azimuth angles of targets.
External Power/Data Connector enables the instrument to use external power supply and transmits the range data to outer environment in the form of electrical signals.

Target Acquisition System
In combat conditions, target detection, identification and definition have great importance. It is a compulsory need to identify the target coordination very quickly and accurately and to transfer these to the fire control system in the shortest time.
The Target Acquisition System has been developed for the ASELSAN Thermal Camera Systems in order to point the detected target and to measure its coordinates, range, elevation and azimuth angles. Both the Electronic Compass and Inclonometer Unit which give the elevation and azimuth angles and the Laser Range Finder which measures the target's distance are in the Sensor Unit which is mounted on to the Thermal Camera. The system also includes the Laser Pointer which points the target in the infrared spectrum, therefore, helps to describe the target to the troops who have the night vision equipment.
The station coordinates can be entered either manually or through a GPS electronically. All information is displayed on the thermal camera video screen. In addition to this, the target information can be numerically transferred to the other systems.

Night Vision Monocular
ASELSAN Models M982 and M983/M983A are Night Vision Monocular systems that offer high resolution, image intensified night vision in a very lightweight single-tube and single-eyepiece configuration.
The M982, M983 and M983A models are identical except for the image intensifier.
The new concept of a single-eye format night vision monocular is based on independent use of each eye. One eye is equipped with a night vision device while the other eye remains free and uncovered. A major disadvantage of the standart dual-eye goggle is the one-minute pupil dilation period after the goggle is removed. During this period, the user may be night-blind. With ASELSAN monocular goggles, the uncovered eye is already dilated and provides instant transition to ambient light viewing.
Another advantage of the monocular is the wider perceived field of view (FOV). The user has a 40 degree FOV on his equipped eye and 90 degree minimum peripheral vision with his free eye. This configuration gives the user the sense of a greater FOV.
For long-range observation, both models can be easily field-converted to 3X magnification and 13 degree FOV by a simple objective lens change.
General Specifications
- Compact, very lightweight
- Increased facemask comfort and stability
- Quick-disconnect, auto-off power
- Built-in IR illuminator

Only one AA size battery is required to power this rugged, water resistant, 6X sight which provides a high resolution, intensified image for effective night sighting and aiming. A variable intensity red reticle is optically superimposed on the green intensified image, providing the marksman with an extremely visible, high contrast, accurate aiming capability.
M994, M995/M995A models differ only in the type of interchangeable image intensifier tube assemblies in GEN II, III and advanced Gen III. The M994 and M995 include splash-proof lens covers which incorporate a large neutral density filter for realistic daylight training and accurate daylight weapon zeroing. A 4X interchangeable objective lens is also available for weapons requiring a longer viewing range.
