Capitalism and Religion don't mix.
And if it does it becomes Catholicism or Orthodoxy-ism or Muslimism or Buddhism.

Or any other kind of -ism. Like Capitalism.

No GOD wants your money nor your offering of slavery to any world based organization.

Capitalism is what destroys civilizations world wide from the beginning of time.

Capitalism is based on greed and control from selfish sick minded humans.

And what does that have to do with Jesus and free gifts from GOD? Nothing.

In fact the Bible teaches; "they with feigned words make merchandise of you"
2 Peter 2:1
1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

And most of you are pissed off at the Bible because they try to; "make merchandise of you"

When the Bible teaches they will try to; "make merchandise of you"

And who are "THEY"????
2 Peter 2:1-3 tells who they are.

Look at what you just "glanced" at in this post. 2 Peter 2:1-3 tells who they are.

It doesn't take a Rocket Scientist to see this.

which don't agree with each other. Naturally, that's because it was written by many different people over a long range of time during which culture and politics changed.

So ...

People can usually find something in the Bible to support any of their favored positions. Just because the Bible says something doesn't mean that it's "so" ... or that it's "the truth."

The value of the Bible is as a reference book. It contains many human thoughts, observations, wisdom and revealed follies. Is it inspired? Sure. In fact the second book of Timothy -supposedly written by Paul- says that ALL WRITING is given by inspiration of God and useful for "doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction for righteousness."

Encyclopedias are inspired. They give us history of people, attitudes, politics, events etc. We can read about things that worked for success and things that resulted in disaster. It's very beneficial for gaining knowledge and wisdom ... to read history.

It's beneficial to read the Bible for insight into philosophy.

But ...

The Bible was definitely NOT written by God! It's a conglomerate of VERY HUMAN authors who wrote it all down. (Most of them were actually from the Priesthood and Church oligarchy. They were the only ones with enough training and education to do it).

Many people do not realize that what we now call "Church services" apparently were in Jesus' time what we now call "Schools". And the teachers (clergy then) needed books as a basis for their teaching, with a number of books recommended by the head-clerics for that purpose. These selected books later were were bound into one volume called "Bible".
..... Note that different belief systems have different bibles, and any given original bible may have been translated later into different versions.

In church they pass around a brass bowl and people put their Alms of money into it for the church to keep.

Alms ARE NOT FOR MEN NOR TOO MEN!
Matthew 6:1
1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Also note; Nowhere does the Bible say to go to church.
The church is a group of people, not a building.
The Romans made the church into a building, with great prophet potential, making merchandise of the people.

In Jesus' time churches were artificial "families" Members as individuals had no money, and therefore outsiders called them "The Poor". They had given their properties to the management, they had pooled them for the use for all per ACTS 2 and ACTS 4.
..... As I keep repeating, only those are Christians who follow a Christ's teachings, not those of others, and who follow the Christ's lifestyle. Many, including clergy, only think that they are Christians, but they are NOT!
