Is Dubyk good enough for the Warriors to get 1st place in the East?

He needs the Warriors to release him before he can play for Humboldt then.

The Evan Pighin situation in 2008 established that a player with a WHL contract is not free to drop down to Jr A without the consent of the WHL club which owns his rights.

If the Warriors want to stand their ground, they can force Dubyk to play for them or not play amateur hockey in Canada at all. But at the same time, it's hard to imagine a team forcing a kid to play for them if he really doesn't want to.

whether he comes or doesn't really doesn't matter. The price was right and if he comes it may be a good opportunity for him to play one more season of hockey if he fits in with the Warriors.

I would suspect that Millar is going to talk to him and he will at least be around til 20 year old cut down date. Then the Warriors will make a decision on him for the remainder of the season. One more year of education is worth it for him. That is my guess. Why not see if you can get one more free year of education out of the deal and if the Warriors get everyone back they could be a decent team. Hard to say at this point but MAYBE.
