Becomes their top prospect right now in my opinion. Was hoping they'd get him.

There was a fair amount of discussion in the IIHF that the Import Draft was not the right path for Europeans who wanted to play in the NHL. Today, we have Landeskog and Bartschi so far - maybe more European youth will see the CHL as a viable option!

There's already been some of the players eligible (Sebastian Dyk and Albin Blomqvist) who have said they're coming over to the CHL combined with the Leaf's 3rd round pick from last year (Sondre Olden) but we're more interested to see what YOUNGER stars are prepared to come over to the CHL. Players like Burmistrov, Galiev, Landeskog, and Frk as well as Yakupov (for the 2012 draft) came over before their draft year and with the exception of Burmistrov, all the others stuck around for more than one CHL season.

If you pick at the top of the Import Draft, why take a guy like Marincin when he's going to be gone after one season? We want to see what 1994 players are chosen next Wednesday!

The 6,165-seat Four Seasons Arena was the home of the WHLs Great Falls Americans in 1979-80. The Americans didnt survive even one season, but gave birth to one of the great anecdotes in WHL history. Les Jackson was the GM/head coach and the roster included D Derek Davis. One day, Jackson was working the phones while the team was practising when Davis came off the ice and into the office. Jackson looked up and Davis said: Were in trouble. To which Jackson replied: Whats wrong? . . . Davis said: The pylons are up, 2-0.
