one year only?

Hello fellas,
I recently perused my growing collection of Timexes and discovered an anomoly among them. I have a 1960 mens Timex which, when the back is removed, the movement seperates freely from the bezel- no stem removal required. Is this a 'one year only' feature? I believe I have seen the later, thin men's watch which opens thru a crystal bezel ring, but that watch uses a smaller ladies movement. Thanks collin

That case design was used on early Timex Mercurys and Marquettes from about 57 to 63 as well as the thin models with the #23 movements in the 60s. DennisM
