Hope you all had a great 4th of July with family celebrating our freedoms. Many years ago I purchased a 1812 cannon in a Pawn Shop, I restored to to fit on a gun carriage. Each year on the 4th of July at our family get together, I fire 5 rounds to celebrate our freedoms, them we do fire works. One thing for sure its never dull around our family farm on the 4th of July. You all take care, see you next LST-325 mission. SARGE

CHRIS : On our family farm are our 4 kids and wives, 10 grand kids and 11 great grand kids, so all our neighbor are family members. We are like the old TV show "The Waltons" a good tit family and enjoying doing things together. My far off neighbors have got use the cannon firing and my running around the neighbor hood in restored military vehicles. Have a great day. SARGE

Remember 2 years ago when you and I were running across your family's yard in a certain jeep? Seabat just wanted me to bust your chops. Thanks for putting up with us.

SeaBat : What Chris needs is a 10 mile force march with full back pack, that should take the kinks out of him. As to busting my chops, don't think so, I'm a tough old bird and a hard charger. Thanks for the support Seabat, take care. SARGE

I strapped on my full back pack with alice pack and my M1. John Engstrom followed me in his new air conditioned Ford pickup truck for verification. Well, we got 8 tenths of a mile down Veterans Parkway before his Ford pickup broke down. I had to push it back to the ship with him in it. I'll try it again later this week.

I did not start out with This is no s---. Don't confuse me with Captain Jornlin (aka SHAFT). I started out with "Once Upon a Time". There is a difference. Rocky, if you're reading this, please jump in here and support your ol buddy!

Now let me get this right... you're saying John Engstrom doesn't take care of his truck? You're saying you pushed it with him in it to steer... all the way back to the ship?????

I think I'll have to give the SeaBat cookies to the crew when I get to Clarksville....
