I am trying to decide which way to go. How do you think the the new marauder pistol stack up against a Mac 1 LD? I know the marauder has a quick follow up shot but otherwise how would they compare in a head to head shoot off.

If an LD can shoot about 8 FPE, how can a Marauder pistol shoot 5 times more power, that would put it at about 40 FPE...... I thought the P rod in stock form gets about 15 FPE

Maybe you meant to say 5 FPE more, not 5X more ?

to give the LD the edge, as far as accuracy goes. I thought that was the question anyway.

and can be had with a device to quiet it down but I like the Marauder pistol right now, it's the total package IMO. Mine came out of the box at 12 fpe but it can probably be dialed up to 14 or 15.

8 shot magazine, PCP, manometer, shroud, shoulder stock and........drum roll........one motion to cock and load. I prefer one step cocking and loading.

PRod is $400 shipped, I'm thrilled with mine. Don't forget to consider filling gear costs.

with a 12 inch barrel and I think you can get 'em 14 inch too. Maybe longer. I shoot it with open sights. Front sight is on the mod for a radius of 17.75 inches. Three inches more than a 'k' barreled HW and just short of a full length barrel.

AND, it will retain value, unlike the P-rod.

I think though, that it should be noted that the comparison is apples and oranges.

One is a PCP, the other stricktly C02 ( though I think you can use regged air in place of a C02 hangy tank, but I'm not sure, don't own one ) .

You can shoot either with bulk fill, but only possible to use carts on the LD.

Either one would be a good choice for tree squirrels or pistol FT use.

Thanks for the responses. I also like the shoulder stock on the Marauder. I wonder if something like that is avaliable for the LD. So are you saying compressed air can or can't be use in an LD?

The LD can be ran on air with Tim's regulated air tank. I have one with an air tank and I really like it. There is a guy that makes a metal stock for the LD too but I just can't think of his name right now. It is a nice stock on a nice gun. I haven't tried a Prod yet.

Thanks again. If anyone knows who the guy is with the stocks for the LD please chime in.
