either in the bolt or the hammer path.

Carefully take the breech off or at least lift it up, and see if you see anything obvious. I'm guessing you still have some CO2 in the gun, and thats a concern.

When i changed my breech & rear sight I found that the rear screw was too long and it stopped the bolt from cocking.I just shortened the screw a little. If that's not your problem, one of the veterans here will help you.

I have purchased a couple of crosman long steel breeches and the bolts where very difficult to close and open
on the first one i polished the side of the bolt handle for a snug fit. The other I am using as is to see if
it will break in on its on so far it has partially. I have not had an issue with the bolt moving back and
forth after it clears the lock position. I would check the cocking pin in the hammer along with the bolt itself
it sounds like it could have shifted upward and stuck there.
Good luck.

Might also be a tight bolt handle slot or a burr in the breech
Binding hammer spring if you used the screw from the plastic breech
Hammer pin not seated correctly
Binding on burrs, drill marks inside the breech

If all thats happened is a breech swap over then pull it apart and check your work. You don't say if its Crosman standard parts.

Make sure the 8-32 threaded section of the bolt handle is not too long and causing the bolt to bind against the inside of the breech. (ask me how I know) It only takes a tiny bit of the handle passing through the other side of the bolt to cause it to bind.
