Ok not the best scope but for the price it was the clearest glass and reticle out of the bunch. I bpurchased along with a air venturi scope mount. Now sighting in was no problem and its not to bad for a sub 50$ scope. My problem came when I decided to play with the mil dot reticle.
Its a 4x32 fix mag scope with adjustable eye piece to get cross hairs crisp. So far from ten yards on out I have not noticed any parrelax issues.

OK my problem mil is roughly 3.6" @ 100 yards or a 3.6" target would be 4 mils @ 25 yards. Off a rest im getting 1.75 mil @ 25 yards with the 3.6" target. New to mil dot scopes, what am I missing

mildots are calibrated at 10 power so check that out.

its a fixed 4x. I assumed the mil dot would be calibrated to the magnification?
OK so if mil dot is set @ 10x mag then would it mke sense that at 5x your mil dot would double ? 10x mil is 3.6 @ 100 yards. 5x would be 2 mil ?

I pretty much figured out how to use the dots for my own calculations BUT I was hoping to just use like my AR scope.
Been waiting on a reply from leapers for a few days ? Im thinking its just ass mil dot "style" scope?

download it (may have to google it...) and just plug in your data.

It will take care of the all the math, and you can print out a reticalue that shows your holds for a given distance.

you will need to know the dot spacing, pellet BC and speed. everything else it wants you can measure.

You must of course report back

OK chair gun seems pretty cool. I just could not enter some data
1. I have no idea what the BC is of the pellets Im useing currently crosman premeir field hollow points
2. space on mil dots ? I dont know how to measure this.

I will spend some time with chairgun and see what happens

thank you for the chairgun link.

I will have to take the time to calibrate my mil dot scope per the instructions on the program.
playing around with it I did get what I was seeing.

Its all in the magnification. In the mean time I talked to my smartest friend, math wise.
After a brief info about what I was doing comparing one scope to the other he blirted out this
"well if they want you to use 10x on the mil dot to be accurate instead of 1000 in the formula try 400 for your 4x magnification, it should work.

before I did anything a 3.6" target was about 1.5 dots @ 25 yards. he did everything in meters on me

target hieght .09144 meters x 400=36.576/22.86(25 yards)=1.6
So I quess I will just keep a cheat sheet in the lens cover.
My targets are closer to 5" and 10" tall easy enough to make my own chart now that Im on the right track.
