If I have a choice between 2 Nitros for about the same price. One is full power advertized at 1200 FPS. The other is "detuned" to 695 FPS for IL. I'm not looking for a hunting rifle just a plinker. I'm more interested in accuracy than power. I've got a vintage Blue Streak, that's fun but gets to be work, a 2nd variant of a 160 that shoots good but is pretty weak, and an old 66 Powermaster. Would 500 FPS make a difference in cocking effort and accuracy?
I have both. I like the "detuned" Crosman better for plinking. I had to fix the trigger on both.
If you look at the real expensive, $3k+, many of them shoot @ 595FPS, and are extremely accurate.
However, don't expect that from the Crosman. I love the NP airguns; they are a joy to shoot.
