to spend a chunk of change for one of Cothran's servo valves.

For the home tuner building a big bore pistol over .25 or so, I'm fond of the QB78tube and valve mounted to a crosman grip frame

Here's the thread to give you an idea:

It did cost some, for sure. I didn't want to tank or bottle the gun so I stayed with co2 (for shot count)... still pretty lame but it makes 25 fpe ave with 10 or 11 good shots. Bio built a .357 pistol that was close to 100 fpe - iirc. Hope that helps..

and I'm working on a third right now. Cothran valves and tubes. One has a 9mm barrel liner from ToW and another has a .25 Big Bore set up from Baker. The latest will be a 12" LW .25 barrel and BNM Breech, Crosmods trigger, grip and forearm. The 9mm is 12" and too powerful for short range as it messes up the critters and 12" is too short for any accuracy past 25 yds. So the 9mm top end will go on the classifieds and I'll invest the proceeds into a MA 7.62 top end. I'm using the small TP Valve for the 12" LW and a large TP Valve for the 20" Baker barrels. If you make sure your valve retention screws are SS and tightened properly and your TP is well sealed, you shouldn't have any problems. I was surprised at the recoil with the 9mm. Much lighter than I expected.

Yes, it's a PCP. Has a 2250 SS Cothran tube. Get's 8-10 shots per fill. I only got to measure a few shots on a friends chrony. At 2800 - 1700 psi 820,819,790 fps. with AV 118 gn round heads.

This is a bit dated http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1132852914 scroll down near the bottom of the page, think I got near 30fpe on carts higher on bulk co2 then took it to 1500 psi HPA after securing the valve good but don't remember the numbers. A kick in the pants to shoot they are but spendy pellets and only a few shots per cart or fill. Loopy trajectory but good for 30-35 yards the gun was stolen by the druggies though so never really got finished.
The more recent 9mm carbine/arrowgun combo was the 70-100+ fpe gun. http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1451974649
http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1454474336 Really light gun with the infamous Cothran valve which is better than anything I have built thus far. Others have done the 9mm and 30 cal. as well.
