Pretty decent weekend for benchresting, calm winds both early in the mornings and just before sundown both days. What I really wanted to do was get my .20 caliber 22xx carbine out on the range to see what it would do after some tweaking so....I grabbed it, my .22 caliber BSA SuperTen, and headed to the bench.

The BSA is bone stock while the Crosman has seen every mod going I think. This particular one has a 20" free floating LW 5mm barrel, tricked out valve with a Delrin stem and an external valve spring. One other experimental modification on this carbine is a lightened, short stroke hammer to quicken the lock time. To compensate for the loss of hammer mass, the hammer has been bored to accept a larger diameter, more powerful spring. In fact this one uses a shortened spring from a Career 707.

The pellets of choice? The SuperTen seems to love anything JSB makes and the little 22xx goes for JSB Exacts. I went with 16 grain JSB's in the BSA, that gives me around 860fps. The Crosman was locked in at 900 regulated at 1600psi.

Shot about 8 five shot groups with each one and, yes, these two groups were the best of the day.

Thanks for looking
and happy shooting,

Glenn from Texas

Not the best photo but it's the only one I have right now.
The BSA is shown next to a .177 version of the 22xx carbine.

Sorry,

I forgot to tell you, that is a magnificent looking S10! I just bought another one from AOA, probably not as nice as yours! Have a great day!
