I have a 2240 just sitting around that I am considering converting into a PCP, and I would like to order one of the PCP tubes from Don Cothran. What I am wondering is does his tube come with everything I need to do the conversion, such as the endcap with a foster fitting, or is it just a tube? Does it come with a valve, or would I need to get a new front piece for the current valve to make it work? If there is too much additional stuff, I may just go with one of the Hipac units, but I would much rather just go with a single tube.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

I believe it is just for the tube, might want to e-mail him to be sure.

I have 2 of the hipac units, one for a 2240 and one on my 2250 carbine. I am very happy with them. The finish could be better but nice for the price.

How many shots are you getting out of the 2240 Hipac? Any idea what the velocity is?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris right now I have the 2240 set to shoot jsb at around 550fps getting around 15 good shots. You can use a power adjuster and different springs for different settings.

My Carbine the 2250 is set up for around 10 shots at 850 fps.

..but the 2240 unit has a mighty small air volume. Maker reports it as 30cc's, and that's probably about right. LOOKS like it should be more, but the conversion unit is a fat walled tube that slips inside a Crosman tube.

Point being, with 30cc's of air to work with, long shot counts and high energy are not going to go together. Can certainly get them shooting to high energy, but not for many consistent shots.

I was hoping to shoot pellets in the 14-16 grain range at about 600 fps, or maybe Kodiaks at about 500 fps from a 10 inch barrel. Sounds doable for about 10 shots or so. If I don't hear back from Cothran soon, perhaps I'll just order the Hipac.
Thanks for the info,
Chris

Where did you get the stock for the 2250? It looks just what I have been looking for to add to my 2250B build up

Thanks, Mike

Mike the folding stock is for a tippman paintball gun and the forestock is from a mossberg pump shotgun. A lttle work with a dremmel tool, and sanding out the barrel channel a bit will get it to fit.

You will still need a Discovery valve, transfer port, & fill assembly. The valve & fill are available from Crosman for a total of around $50.00 .

I built this pistol around one of Don's 14" tubes. His work is excellant!
