I picked up a 78 Crosman 760 from EBay and replaced the plastic stock with a wood stock made from a Ruger 10/22.
It wouldn't hold pressure but a new valve stem and reseal fixed that.

The plastic "86" version weighs 2 pounds 13 onces and the "78" weighs just a tad over 5 pounds.
The wood stock is 1 pound 3 ounces.

I'm thinking to FT the piston and valve and increase the stroke to 4"+.
Maybe a Challenger barrel too.

Found one I see. The Ruger stock looks good on it. Happy modding. NT

they don't come up very often so I pulled the trigger.
Should be a good platform for an upgraded all metal and wood 760.
Not that I need another air gun.
