A little concerned about my shorts

A little concerned about my shorts

I recently found this forum and have read a few topics. They have been quite enlightening. They have also caused me to do some thinking and raised some concern. I would sure like to get some feedback and advice. You see I have taken up running the last few months to help with shedding some pounds and getting into better shape. I found some old Umbro soccer shorts at thrift store and began wearing them when I run. They come about halfway my thigh and are loose fitting. They are awesome to run in because of the fit and they are thin and cool. Of course I don't wear anything underneath. After checking out this forum I am wondering if that might be a bad idea. I never thought about the loose legs and if they may be revealing. To be honest when I finish running I stretch and sometimes crash. Has anyone ever been able to see someone's manhhod up their shorts legs? Do you think that it might be possible for others to see mine specifically when I am stretching or sitting? I have had a couple of stares while sitting but didn't think anything of it. One guy seemed to be staring but when I looked his way he would turn his head each time. Any feedback would be great thanks.

First, welcome to the forum Ricky.

As to your question, I don't think there's much doubt that if the shorts are short enough and the legs loose enough that you can show more than society believes polite when sitting in certain positions. What some guys do is wear shorts with built-in net supporters. If this goes against your freeballing creed, I guess you will just have to look for shorts that have snug fitting legs- perhaps with elastic around the hems.

Maybe someone here knows of some shorts that fit this requirement.

My short are just that, shorts, not these shorts I see that go past the knees, these to me are not shorts, most of my shorts are cotton, soft, thin cotton. inseam about two inches. about three inches above my knees standing and about six sitting down.I have a few mesh short that I dare only wear when i am walking my dog or getting gas where no one will see me for long periods of time not shy just don't want to get arrested. I would say I am average down below. I have never had any part floop out. But of course I do not sit with my legs spread as to give someone a peek. That's my two cents for now.

Well remember that parts don't have to "flop out" to be visible. Any time you are sitting or in any position where someone can see up your shorts legs- there is a possibility they can see something- depending on the angle and lighting conditions. Several times my wife has told me I was showing when I had no idea that I was. Its not something I could know because I'm not in the position to see what others see. Even looking in a mirror is not the same because of different angles.

I have a personal interest in shorts. I find them to be sexy and kind of erotic if they are not "revealing" but give a sense of a tease. If your shorts show flopping around or even if you are stretching and the material gives the effect of things hanging free I find that erotic. If things hang out and their are little kids around then yeah that could be an issue but does that really happen?
I seriously doubt you have anything to be self conscious over unless you are well hung and letting things flop out in the wrong company. If you are getting stares then yeah you might want to casually glance down and see how things are hanging. In general I often look but hardly ever see things hanging out.
I would continue wearing what you are wearing and if you do notice things hanging then just readjust and move on. Just my two cents.

I had that problem in grade school. I've never worn underwear since I got out of diapers even in pre school and kindergarden. My parents were poor and didn't buy me any. I got over the being emberassed about people seeing things. I remember in 1st grade I got in trouble for slapping a girl for lol at me when she saw up my shorts and noticed I didn't wear underwear. The down side it I went to school that was still allowed to give spankings in the princables office and that was done with pants down over underwear or bare bottom if not wearing any so I got paddeled bare bottom.

Umbros are some of the best shorts, for styling. Considering that many soccer players are reputed to freeball during games, wearing similar-length shorts, not much possibility of "visions", I suspect. At least while you're standing or running. Bending over might be a little different, though, as with stretching.

I realize that the issue of stretching prior to running has seen some differing orientations in more recent years. Used to be that you HAD to stretch before you ran, then some research revealed that it didn't help performance nearly as much as it was thought to. Then the orientation became to not stretch quite as much (or extensively) prior to the run, but be sure to do some afterward. For me, doing some calf raises/hamstring stretches are enough BEFORE the run. Afterward, they don't seem to be that important. But when it DOES become noticed is when I'd so calf raises with weights . . . the next morning, if I didn't stretch afterward, I'd be walking on my tip toes first thing in the morning.

So . . . wear the Umbros you like to wear. Skip the bends, stretches, twists and such that you might be doing before the run . . . other than foot-specific movements. Let your body warming up take care of the rest during the first mile or so--which it will, trust me. Then, when you're finished with the run, put on some sweats to stay warm until you get to your wash-off area. Sitting in a luke warm bath tub, relaxing afterward, you can do your "bend at the waist" stretches and such in a much nicer environment of unhurried luxury and relaxation. Plus some muscle massages as you stretch can be done, too, for good measure!

Enjoy!

Well soccer players do sometimes show too much-
. . . . . . . .
It's just that it happens too quick and too distant to be noticed- usually.

But it is possible to have shorts with snug fitting legs that wont show-
. . . . . . . .

Hey guys just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions and feedback. Based on these photos and the others I saw on this site I guess I better start being more careful how I sit, stretch, or climb when wearing these shorts and any loose leg short with no undies. It is already warm here in the south and it is only going to gett hotter I really think I want to continue freeballing when doing my after noon runs. The good thing is the area I run I mostly see other guys so I will hopefully be okay. One last question has anyone ever noticed someone freeballing in public? If so how could you tell?

I have seen three off top of my head. the main one was at the airport in AZ. This guy was wearing white jeans and they were tight everywhere..the thing is he was so huge he could've thrown it over he shoulder and walked on so the jeans left nothing to the imagination. I was shocked but happy at the same time. Public and he look like a porn star. The second was last fall at Walmart this guy had holes in the back pocket area of his jeans and it was all skin unless he was wearing a jock or thong... The third is one of my regular customers who comes in wearing mesh shorts at times you can see the shape of the head and etc. Its not vulgar but noticeable only because I was checking..lol
The main way I can tell is if i can she "Shape" of the man tool. I have a difficult time telling in most other clothes because some are definite growers and some showers..know what I mean.
