Psychologists refer to it as a "crowd phenemenon" called "Diffusion of Responsibility". It's definition is on Wikipedia. This relates to the infamous Kitty Genovese case as well. One of the main characteristics of such an event is how it haunts any witnesses long after it's occurance and how by being endlessly rehashed, justified, and re-analyzed into endless fragments of memory, no objective truth remains.

It has been commonly observed at the immediate collision point of a car accident where several or more witnesses will observe injuries but no individual will call 911. It can also be witnessed in a movie theatre where a disturbance or malfunction with the presentation will be taking place and no one in the audience individually will take any action. I myself have seen this happen in theatres countless times, and often, I have been the only one to do or say anything, with either a hostile reaction towards me from other audience members, or only one or two immediate individuals WITHIN CLOSE RANGE in the dark possibly agreeing to take action once I've spoken up.

An ugly truth which is healthier to face than deny.

"See, that's that's the lie, man. Telling my kid that Jackie O wasn't hauling ass off that Lincoln to save herself. Saying she was trying to get a cop. She didn't want to get her brains blown out. A natural human instinct of self-preservation. So why are you trying to make my kid feel guilty if he can't live up to some false idea of Jackie O's courage? She hauled ass to save her ASS. Simple truth. But it's the LIE that's pornographic."

I have read all post on this board. The story changes daily. Seem that one think stays the same BKOH says he spoke to people he never did. His story is unreliable. His versions are one sided and many spin off have be erected from them. Everything Brian says must be held in question.

i think it explains some of what really happened.
Human instict is supposed to protect those that are weaker or injured. That's why ordinary peolpe run to a car crash or burning building. I think the people she was with that night were "morons" and should have taken her to the hospital. They weren't HER friends. I would have taken her to the hospital and bit the bullet. That's just me.

well, they fled the ship like rats from a sinking ship. if they did that when she was gravely ill yet still alive then they are no better than murderers in my book. the constant revisionism (dirty up Anissa, clean up almost everyone else) suggests guilt hangs heavy over three decades later.

Man I hate agreeing with Butt!

It was an accident; Larochelle hired a L.A.P.D. detective friend of his to do what ended up to be a two month investigation. It was thorough. It was published in the private forum. The conclusion was that no one could have done a thing, she died quietly too under the influence to call for help or anything. The guy even said that if they had discovered her before going out for breakfast it would have been too late for her.

Sorry, I don't mean to be graphic. But you need not blame anyone (with the possible exception of the doctor who gave her seconal instead of quaaludes.) It was an accident that was not discovered until too late. Mr. Larochelle's comment at the end of the report was that even Anissa did not understand that she had consumed beyond a safe limit.

It was a tragedy. You need not make it worse by blaming others.

That is correct. We forget that this forum does not have all of the information that we have archived.

Further they have not heard about the Kuwait City visit or the possibility that Mr. Larochelle might both be a new daddy and be going home soon therein! Joyous news upon joyous news!

this is what we know on this forum -

Koven who admitted he was wired on cocain (a stimulant that keeps you wide awake and quite lucid)supposedly slept next to Anissa for several hours while she was already deceased, woke up and didn't notice.

we don't even know who laced the drink, and if Anissa was aware of how much seconal was in the drink.
