Team Necro? A six pack of light haired emaciated strung out speed freaks wandering about the world with their summoned and hired army, steamrolling over any and everything in their way?

6 Necros.

All pump Bone Armor a bit, for the look.

One Pumps Bone Walls, Clay Golems, Mastery, Bone Spear and Amp Damage

One Pups Poison Nova, Blood Golem, Mastery. Curse: IM

One Pumps Fire Golem, Mastery, Bone Spirit: Curse: Lower Resist

One Pumps Revives Skeleton Mastery, Bone Spirit. Curse: Decrepify

One Pumps Iron GOlem, Mastery, Bone Spirit; Curse Terror.

One Pumps CE, Bone Prison, Bone Spirit: Curse = Attract.

Mix around those combinations for more balance I suppose.

Add Act II Mercs with Six different Auras. Might, Holy Freeze, Defiance, Prayer, Thorns, Blessed Aim.

Result? I predict . . .

The Night of the Living Dead!!! Video lag aplenty!!

with different people responsible for each one.

With my cd2 necro, I liked to cast IM on a group, and then Attract on one or two of the monsters, repeating till all were dead.

In co-op I enjoyed decrepify till someone had gotten a kill, then amp + Ce.

Curses have a large impact on the monster(s) you fight. IMHO the impact you, the player, desires is not static but changes with through-out the individual battles. To me it seems it would be very hard to co-ordinate the cursing amoung your brotherhood of the undead.

Ok, that said...

you could easily ignore 'optimal cursing': just take a more blizzard approach and brute-force your way through the whole thing and never notice. eh, it might even be faster that way.

Last time I partied with a Necro the dinglebat kept overwriting my Attract with his Weaken. Maybe he thought they stacked...

I would propose two Cursers, two Summoners, and two um... Boners. :P It would give you about the same results, with the mercs.

Everyone could have Bone Armor and a Golem but they'd only max spells in their category. Let me know if you need a boner Occhi!

(hehe...I slay me!)

I've been wanting to try a General of the Undead for a while, now.

You've given me an excuse!

To add a little spice and flavor to the generalship?

Methinks t'would be an appropriate Goon Scenario, eh?

The Ghoulish Goons, or some such alliterative stuff.

I'd be interested in joining in, if scheduling works out. I take it the rules aren't set in stone yet? I was just thinking about this group and how they'd interact. How are they going to be dealing damage?

Mercs (Phys, and probably the better portion of the damage)
Revives and Blood, Iron, and Clay Golem (Phys)
CE (Fire, Phys)
Fire Golem (Fire)
Poison Nova (Poison)
Bone Spear and Spirit (Magic)

Did I miss anything? I'd say the top three items are the biggest chunk of the change, and they all benefit from Amp Damage or Decrep much more than they would Lower Resist. LR doesn't even help either of the BS spells anymore either, last I checked. I'd say unless you're going to have someone specialize in Skeleton Mages, LR isn't going to help out much at all. I'd think the standard strategy would be:

Amp/Decrep as many monsters as possible
Attract a few right in the middle
Let minions and CE wail, possibly throwing in crowd control if necessary (walls, terror)

IM will be allright in the beginning (and against Durial, anyone?), but by hell mode no one is going to want to wait for the monsters with 6x hit points to beat each other down at a quarter of the rate. Those are my initial thoughts anyways.

Erick.

Occhi, I know that you are on a sort of restricted D2 schedule, so what night is good for you? I have no social life (you know that!), so I can probably accommodate any evening.

No, no! No more Kypling, none of that east it east and never the twain shall meet stuff . . . 8^P

East was so buggy tonite, I was grateful Hardcore was not on the Menu: or Rustinaille would be dead as we speak. (That's me and the voices in my head.)

I was trying to rush IO-BIONDI, a Pike barb, through Diablo tonite at clvl 22 (my to hit 52%, with his blocking, I whiffed A Lot) and after three hours and lag - a - licious, eventually beat the Red faced SOB. Crap drops, eh?

Account ANGELEYES East will hopefully soon have a few HC backups.

Thanks to your boost the other nite, LaBelleTete (sorry Pete, I just had to ) lives at 24. Pubbies pretty friendly this morning, me off for President's Day and all. Met lots of school kids on line. Go figure. Most were even civil, with the occasional . . .you know the drill.

So, is Necro's East, or West? I would prefer HC just because . . .

Any suggestions based on relative realm stability?
