Hi there - I am new to this board after DE success (at least so far) and hope it's ok to post about non-DE specific PG issues. We will be 7 weeks on Tuesday and my last check was an U/S two Tuesdays ago (april 10) at 5 weeks, 1 day. The u/s showed a yolk sac and my beta level was at 3569, e2 at 458 and p4 at 58.3. (I am taking crinone morning and night.) So all seemed on track last week.

The reason for my post is that this 2 WW in between u/s (we are supposed to detect h/b at next u/s on Tues) is as excruciating as any other 2WW I have been through! We have severe MF and so it is very difficult for me to believe this PG will be viable. What is even worse (and I am going to look back at this post and consider myself totally crazy!) is that last night at around 11:30 while watching TV, it felt like the "light switch" went off so to speak and all of my symptoms stopped. I do not have bleeding or cramping however.

I am going to go in for b/w this morning and will assume that my beta should still be doubling every 24 hrs such that my levels should be around 112K today?

Thanks for letting me post - we have gone through a lot to get this pg and I have become terrified it won't continue - will hope for best today on blood test.

I managed to get squeezed in for an u/s this morning... and we saw a h/b! I was convinced it was all over. I hope to be able to join you here for a while...

saw this news in between receiving your email!!! Was going to say that you absolutely can't go by any "loss of symptoms". OK - sure yes loss of symptoms have been be an indication of not so good news for some us BUT it by no means is a definitive indication whatsoever. For my successful PG, in those early weeks, I would tell B.ecky at C.ooper - "if it wasn't for you telling me I'm PG I wouldn't know I was!" And then there were other days that I'd forget I was PG (If you can believe that!) and feel a cramp and think "I'm about to get my period." I think I even had that feeling well into my 2nd tri.

And NOPE - asbolutely do not expect doubling on the beta. It slows down considerably at this point. Seeing a heartbeat trumps practically any beta number you receive today, meaning if it came back at 60k or 100k it's all good.

I'm so thrilled for you!!!!

I am so happy for you, how exciting!

I could relate to your worries. That initial 2ww is nothing compared to getting to when the flutters and then the kicks can be felt. I don't think I let my breath out until week 18 or so and even then I would watch for enough movements to give me comfort.

After going through IF and finally being pg, it's hard to just be zen about it all.

Post any time you feel the need. I am sure many women were vigorously nodding as they read your post.

hugs

This is where you belong Mama!

Congrats on the reassuring u/s. I know how difficult it is to wait for those u/s's....so I'm so glad you were able to get in early and check things out! ...also, just a little FYI, your HCG level does stop doubling after about 10,000 I believe. Not that you care about that anymore b/c at this point...it's all about the baby's growth! Grow baby grow!

You might want to consider buying/renting a home doppler. They are so reassuring when you feel like you might not be pg anymore! I used mine twice a day on my anxious days!

and thanks for letting me post here - I'm not quite sure where I belong right now! It was an awful morning until we got reassurances so was glad to be able to reach out here.
Congrats! Great news on hearing the h/b!!

The waiting is excruciating and nerve wracking. So glad you were able to get in for an u/s to help ease your mind.

Congrats again!
