1) No need to yell in your message using all caps.

2) Do a quick search of the collector's market or dealer's market and you can see what the watch has been listed at for sale purposes. That should give you a good idea of where the watch presently stands.

3) As for an investment? Just my opinion, but I only buy watches to wear and not as a speculative investment. If you aren't going to wear the 341, then why bother purchasing it? Try talking to a broker or look into conventional investment products if you want to invest for the future. Hedge fund, no-load mutual fund, certain types of real estate, etc.

Good luck!

you can't wear it (except if you are a bodybuilder), and unless you pay half the retail price it's a bad investment IMO

but I'm sure people here prefer to talk about other things non-watch related.

If you want to get an answer about price / investment opportunity. It is taboo on this forum for some strange reason... you will only get remarks on your questions here, not answers that you are looking for...

Watches are not investments but if Panerai was like other brands in terms of their secondary values, I don't think this site would be as popular...

I don't think the reason discussions about pricing and speculation are taboo here is strange at all. I take the policies about these topics to be a reflection of the desires of the owners and mods that this forum be a gathering spot where enthusiasts and collectors can discuss the watches and the brand... not values and future earnings.

So in that context, discussions about prices and speculations really have no place here... and as you said there's other places to discuss that stuff anyways. I like that the forum here is just about the watches and enjoying them. Of course everyone enjoys owning a watch that maintains and even sometimes increases in value, but to me that's a separate topic from the watches themselves, which are the thing I'm actually most interested in and why I hang around here. If I want to talk about investments etc. I'll have a chat with a financial advisor
