Full of zest and zeal when young and new
Eyes are dramatic, wide and free to roam the world
Lots of ideas, full of energy that just has to be burned…
But soon…alas – the eyes glaze over…the zeal ebbs away
Beaten into submission by life…he looks up with brokenness
All the dreams seem to be gone, all the energy seems to have faded and with it…and gone with it are the impulsive ways.

No more young and impulsive…
Quiet, thoughful and eyes are serene…not glazed and beaten
Not tired…but calm…dreams are not gone…but different
Energy hasn’t faded but is focused…
Submission is surrender…your ways are not his ways
Your thoughts are not his thoughts
Do not fight against God – you will lose.

LT..I hope its okay to add this to your excellent Pattern of Life piece. I posted only the first verse of the poem in response to Lees's "Can't Wait Forever.." post below. I share here all three verses of my experience, captured in Poem. And why not, experience is for sharing ! Hope you and others like it...

Silence Speaks !
Its message heard loudest in the deep of night
The kundu skips a beat, the garamut goes quiet
Unheard painful vibes puts slumber to flight
The missing stanza talks, the muted melody educates
Silence speaks, I better not put up a fight!

Silence Speaks !
Its sobering tale amplified thrice over in my mind as I write
The morning’s stillness broadcasts it aloud, the midday heat echoes the same
The afternoon’s deafening quietness brings no respite
Hey, Amigo I need a siesta bad
Silence speaks, I cannot put up a fight!

Silence speaks..
Its liberating news splashed across Mosbi’s evening sky – what a sight !
The clouds scream Shout to the Lord, as the sunset whispers..
Be still and know that I am God,… sounds like music alright !
Sweet surrender, Peace be still..!
Silence Speaks, How can I fight ?
