Whats the difference between those two ??
and Job difference ??
Like some they take up IT Course
some Computer Science -

WHATS THE DIFF ??

keyword is "science". a lot more maths and physics involved in CS. also, CS covers aspects of computer engineering, and software engineering. IT is more oriented around software. not so much maths-intensive...
computer scientists are generally smarter, bigger, happier, nicer-smelling, better looking characters than those sad-sacks who study IT (e.g. commercial computing <- what exactly is that anyway?)

To add on to what Merc said. COMPUTER SCIENCE covers IT or IT is just a component of Computer Science.

I am not quite sure right now but I beleive COMPUTER SCIENCE is more to do with Software Engineering (Programing) than COMPUTER ENGINEERING, which is more hardware related.

Okay ! i would say you two r partly correct ...Like Merc said , CS - is a Science branch of Computer Engineering .mostly CS - is dealt with theoretical, academic aspects of computing , it as a strong aspect of programming and mathematics...IT is more practical - & technical and is to do with development, installation, and implementation of computer systems and applications. They r both same , a Computer Science Software Engineer & IT SOftware Engineer would have a different background of dealing with the aspect Software Engineering .So yeah - IT is mainly to work with the Busineness & management , CS is the architecture part of it .......

hmm does that make any sence or ...!!
upla yet skelim

Computer Science revolves around the PC alone. IT goes beyond the computer out onto the LAN and onto the WAN.

okay, anonymous. that is just plain WRONG. LAN/MAN/WAN and whatever other type of network you wanna bring up is covered in CS.
dude, where'd that come from???

Okay !!

osem mi tok pinis ya ! They r both same ...but not really !!!

CS -is the branch of engineering science that studies (with the aid of computers) & its more theoretical, it has strong stronger emphasis on programming in computer science than in information technology.

IT - Information technologists certainly build software applications, and programming is certainly a critical skill in IT, but the style of programming in IT differs from that in Computer Science.

So yeach - technically - Computer Science -is more theory part of computing ,
IT- is more practical ...

hmm..upla yet nau skelim na sizim ..!!!

Computer Science is the science of dealing with what builds up comp. programs called algorithms, thus deals with alot of maths.( seen is a branch of mathematics(maths is science aswell)).

IT and comercial comp. are basically end users, so to speak.

software engineers deal with sofware interfacing of hardware devices.

However nowadays its a bit cloudy to deferetiate this fields.

If you want to take up CS you hev to be very very good in maths.

hope this helps.
