Wouldn't it matter less with Clomid, since FSH is really an indicator as to how you will respond to FSH injects and not Clomid?

I think Zhang does clomid as long as your FSH is reasonable - up to 30's or so. But you are right, I am not sure it matters. In general, Zhang would want to treat your FSH with BCPs and bring it down prior to using the clomid. Does Dr. T use clomid? So far, I only know of Zhang that uses it.

He said reasonable to try it, but not sure how much he's used it. Will discuss further today. Did you do Clomid with Zhang, Alima? Aren't you with Dr. T now? What's he doing with you (if you don't want to talk about it, totally understood)? I'm trying to figure out what to do...

yes, with Dr. T, but in my off months, still go to Zhang to try to bank embryos. Haven't gone to Zhang in a couple of months while Dr. T figures out what to do with my lining. We are just trying different things now to see if it thickens like Viagra, etc. I never did Clomid with Zhang because I feel horrible on it, so only did natural and low stims to try to get a follicle. I have to say, when I did get an egg with Zhang, most of the times it did fertilize, so there is definitely something to be said for low stims and just going natural. But that is just me, I don't think the stims really help with my egg quality, but without them, my eggs don't look too bad.

Have you gotten more then one egg retrieved in a cycle with Zhang? Good luck with your lining issue. I assume you done the BA? That seems to help mine.

The mean day 3 FSH is 14-16 for clomid protocol for our age group. If you clock 30+, then I am not sure, but I am pretty sure sub 20 is acceptable.

At Clomid 50mg, mean number of oocyte retrieved is slightly less than 2, and number of fertilized is around 1.5.

I spent a lot of time doing consults around the country, if there is a famous doctor, I sent in the medical records, do the whole blood panel test, and then phone consult, because really it doesn't cost that much to get more insight on their protocols.

The fact is, the only thing that matters in IVF is the lab. The rest is all throwing the darts on the wall. I have had the top REs prescribing me pretty much the SAME protocol down to the Ts and I implemented it with my RE, and had I gone to any other clinic, would have been a bust if done in the same month, even if at CCRM's lab. For those who do generate good eggs in a certain month, then lab will make a big difference. Otherwise, it is all luck. Even the REs admitted to me that luck is a very big part of IVF.

Therefore, if you need to play with the limited resources, the best way is to do as many cycles as possible, to throw as many darts on the wall as possible. If I had all the money in the world, I would camp out at CCRM doing mini-IVF (obviously they are offering low stim too, but at a full blown price).

Exactly why I prefer to stay with Dr. T then go to Zhang. I personally believe his lab is better, and his track record over 40 is better.

And what is the average transfer of embies for his over 40 patients?

I'm out and just on my iPhone, so only stat I pulled up was percent of transfer resulting in live birth for 41-42. Dr. T, 10 percent, Dr. Z, 6. And that's generous for Dr. Z. His stats are abysmal, but he does get the worst cases.
