But here's why. I am a poor responder and started this process in my 40's. I found an RE that understood that and we had frank conversations about #'s of antrals/follicles. That my numbers would be low, no matter what. That if E2/P4/LH numbers supported the low number of follicles then we would move forward.

If I had been at any number of clinics in my area that did not understand high FSH and poor responders then I would have been cancelled all three times that I had IVF probably.

Hope this helps a bit.

I only do low stim or natural, so it wouldn't make sense to cancel for low AFC, since I am only expecting to make a couple or so.

My lowest AFC prior to a high stim cycle is 3. Not cancelled, and I ended up having 6 follicles. Your clinic is just playing game with you.

Thanks alot - I am changing doctors - i never had this problem in NZ, I was even thinking of flying home to do a cycle and have a holiday as the combined cost is equal to one round in the states!!

I fear my current clinic is looking for the perfect cycle is just wasting time. Finding it hard to find a suitable RE now, as CCRM is a long wait, and I want to cycle before I chat to them.

Dr Sher said he would medium stims on me, so might give him a whirl.

thanks again, you have been a wealth of information and support

PhoebeMass crossing everything for your 3 darling embrio's.

Dr. Cardone is terrific. I am a huge fan of his and his office. He is high FSH friendly, takes the "challenging" cases that the big clinics don't want, and is simply a good man. He is a proponent of high stim, if needed, to "coax" the most number of eggs. Though I understand he will tailor a program for you. We did MDL protocol 4 years ago and have our DD because of him not blinking at my high FSH. It took 4 IUI's and an IVF. He stuck with me the entire way.

His IVF costs are reasonable. However, I am with CNY in Albany right now because their cost for mini-IVF is so much less expensive. I am monitoring with Dr. Carodone's office and I love their support and kindness. CNY said if my FSH was over 20 they would have cancelled the cycle - I was at 17.5. I would have fought that. I'm 45 and have high FSH....of course it's going to be high, for heaven's sake.

Anyhow, I wish you well in your search for the right RE. It's a challenge, for certain.

I like the women that have posted on Dr. Gill in Houston - sounds like a good RE and reasonable man. May be another to check out.

Good luck!
