Hello ladies... I've been lurking here a while, and wondering if anyone here is from Ohio? If so, or if you're from somewhere near there, where in the world did you cycle?

I've just started my research and I'm really confused. I've heard stats are not to be trusted and it's so hard to compare clinic pricing.

We don't want to travel very far, so that leaves clinics on the East Coast or in the MidWest. We're interested in a guaranteed program, but not necessarily.

My only IF issue appears to be age, as far as we can tell. Have done some immune testing, nothing turned up. So we might just go for a single cycle.

Where would you go if you lived in Ohio? And how do you research/find/judge your clinics if stats are not to be trusted?

Thanks for your input.

I have a friend who used an RE in Cincinnati, but she didn't use DE. I can find out his name if you are near there. I actually used an RE from Indiana. He has offices in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. Let me know if you need more info about either one of those. Not sure about the stats questions, these are just suggestions from known experiences. Best of luck to you!

Hi Tracey... thanks for responding. Did you go with a private RE? It sounds like you had success, yes? I'm curious why you went with a private doc vs. a clinic, if I'm understanding your situation correctly?

I was referred to him by my ob/gyn when I was having trouble conceiving and stayed with him throughout my journey. I wouldn't have done it any other way. He was excellent!

Forgot to respond to success question....yes, I have 3 children after a lot of struggling and heartache.

Sounds like you've really been through the fire, but how wonderful you now have three LOs... are all 3 of your children from DE, if you don't mind me asking? And were all 3 from the same RE? Is he private? If you'd prefer to share this info offline, just let me know. I can post my email address.

Yes they are all from DE, although 2 different donors....and I used the same RE for all of my attempts. It is Midwest Fertility Specialists- Dr. Brad Bopp. Are you in the Northwest Ohio area?

I"ll give these folks a call... would love to not have to travel very far. Thanks for your input, much appreciated!

Also, can you tell what you like about this RE and the clinic?

I loved him b/c I didn't feel like I was just another patient or number. He was so very caring and understanding. I cried to him many a time about the fact that I felt like I would never make it to motherhood and he was just so supportive, as was all of the staff. He is a wonderful man and as I said before, I am so grateful to have been sent to him. Best of luck to you on your journey!

..I went to Fertility Center of Northwest Ohio in Toledo, Ohio at Toledo Hospital.
The price was fantastic. We used a known donor but still compensated her.
Our cycle was 4 yrs ago but still the price (including our donor compensation) was around 13 grand including all medicines. But, as I say that was 4 yrs ago.
The cycle resulted in our DS on the very first try.

I absolutely loved Dr Karnitis. He was great! I wasn't as thrilled with his nurses but the embryologists were FANTASTIC!!
Good Luck!!!!

Have you checked in Columbus? I remember my OB telling me that there is a new RE practice here. You might look into that, too. Sorry I'm not more help with specifics!
