Well, it's not what I wanted to see but there it was, bright red when I went to the toilet just now. Earlier today I had what seemed like a small bit of old blood spotting, but then just now bright red. A couple of days ago I had really bad cramping like period pains so this latest is not making me feel positive about this continuing. Funny, no cramping now, just a few twinges. Still don't have a date for my scan but the GP said earliest 8 weeks so I wait. Feeling really let down and disappointed. This is my third DE cycle and I had hoped DE would make the difference but maybe not.
Sorry to have bad news but I had to share with someone.

Judging from what I've seen on this board, 5 wks or so seems to be a very typical time to experience an SCH. I was about 5 wks when I had mine. Yes, the bleeding was bright red and felt just like AF. Know you have a LO, but can you lie down? Try to lie down and drink some water, and if your clinic still has you on BA, I'd stop it and e-mail them and ask them whether they want you to continue. My doctor in Zlin told me to stop the BA when I bled from an SCH. I would also call your GP and let him or her know you're bleeding; they'll probably want to bump up that U/S. Take care, and hang in there! Maggie (in VA)

and yes, he said he would try to organise a scan for early next week. Basically he said it was a waiting game and it was probably too early for a scan now as if there was no heartbeat, then they would still have to wait another week to see if h/b appears. No need to rush to a&e since there would be nothing they could do if it is a mc. Just like you said, he told me to rest as much as i can. I think he is realistic and it could go either way, but from my previous mc's, then this is how it started, albeit both my mc were at 8weeks. I cycled in Czech but I'll try and contact them about the aspirin as you suggest. Thanks Maggie.

but I would consider increasing your dose. Bleeding can be a result of low progesterone... I would press for early scan and also a progesterone blood test if possible.

By the way, if you are taking aspirin for antiphohpholipid syndrome I don't believe you should EVER stop without a doctor's ok as stopping can have worse effects than staying on. So it is a good idea just to double check with the clinic before stopping...

Many doctors in my experience will consider the risks of an SCH vs stopping anticoagulants if you have a clotting disorder. I stayed on all my anticoagulation with my SCH as stopping was considered more dangerous than staying on.

Don't forget Aoife has not yet been diagnosed with an SCH...

Best,
Daisy

Some of us don't absorb it well and need increased doses.

Hoping for you.

Hey- you do not know what you do not know.Wait, put your feet up and stay hydrated. I had unexplained bleeding everyday from 6-12 weeks--no sch and I was told NOT to stop the baby aspirin. I have no identified clotting disorder and am now 20 weeks pg.

Wait until mid week 6 and get a scan. I know this is absolutely harrowing but all you can do is wait, breathe and stay hydrated. I really hope this turns out ok for you. I am crossing my fingers and holding my thumbs.

My working assumption was that her clinic (I cycled in the Czech Republic, too) put her on BA as part of their standard protocol, as did mine. I don't remember Aoife mentioning having a clotting disorder, but agree that if she's on a special anticoagulant regimen, that's different. Totally agree on the P4. Maggie (in VA)
