Are there any IF therapists that take insurance? It gets too expensive to also have to pay for this, along with all the other costs. I think I do need to talk to someone, but I really can't afford to pay out of pocket.

not sure where you live but that would help to get you some answers.
Also, you can ask your clinic..they should have a therapist who works with them who you can consult for this info and may even be able to see you.
good luck..it really helps to talk this out with someone.

I would first check the Resolve directory. Here is the link to mental health professionals:
http://www.resolve.org/resources/profes ... -list.html

The criteria to become an infertility specialist per the ASRM is pretty extensive (I'm a licensed therapist and looked into it - but just to become qualified would have required a complete career shift.) As a result, therapists who specialize in infertility issues can be hard to find. In fact, there is only one I know of in all of Delaware and she doesn't accept insurance.

I would first check Resolve and call any therapists in your area to find out if they take insurance. If not, you can always expand your search to other therapists who do no specialize in fertility issues in your area who do accept insurance. If you go that route, I would look for a therapist who has extensive experience in women's issues (some even specialize in pregnancy loss but not infertility.) You might want to look for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as they tend to have more training specific to couple's issues, human sexuality, etc than a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Psychologist.
