Hi guys---haven't been on the boards for awhile. As a reminder, I have done two DE cycles resulting in two pregnancies and two miscarriages. Since then my RE has done 20k worth of tests on me (seriously---I think I have had every test imaginable. they took 17 vials of my blood, i thought i would pass out!) and there was nothing that they found wrong. So he wants to give me Heparin this cycle. I am seeing a re-current miscarriage specialist as well and she thinks this is a bad idea. I will try anything at this point, but don't know who to believe.
Anyone out there not have a clotting disorder but was prescribed Heparin anyway?
thanks!

had all of the testing done, but still was not successful. I added Lovenox, Folgard 2.2 and long term Prednisone.

have had a lot of testing w/ no positive results

saw a cardiovascular specialist who said that it is possible that clotting condition exists that they haven't discovered yet.

figured it was worth a try

RE just called and said it's Lovenox, not Heparin!

the miscarriage thing is so weird, i feel like no one has a firm handle on why it happens! I think i will take the Lovenox since there are obviously undiscovered issues that might be at play!
Good Luck with your pregnancy!

which is a kind of European version of Lovenox, a low molecular weight heparin. The only real clotting factor I had was double hetero for MTHFR. My OB GYN had me take it the entire pregnancy.

many losses with my own eggs before finally getting on Lovenox for my donor embryo cycle. Testing had been inconclusive - sometimes positive and sometimes not. he put me on it based on my losses. Finally got pregnant with two.

for our two successful FET cycles. This was suggested after our first fresh cycle which was perfect in all ways ended in a chemical.

My Dr. was really baffled over that failure since I have had Oe children and the first fresh cycle had perfect 20/20 blasts..2 transferred into a perfectly lined uterus. I have had chemicals in the past and 2 m/c's at 12 wks and 8 wks but they thought it was egg quality.

anyway he did a series of blood tests..yes the amount of vials needed was astonishing..and the only thing they found was that I tested positive for factor V leiden..inheritated by one parent...obviously that blood clotting issue didn't prevent me from having our own egg children but anyway he prescribed heparin from about a week before our transfer until week 20 gestation and we were successful.

For the next FET heparin wasn't available so they prescribed Fragmin which I loved as it was a preloaded shot I ONLY had to take once a day.

Also along with the hep and frag..I TOOK a low dose aspirin...until 36 wks.

I hope this works for you...as sometimes says maybe there is a blood clotting issue that hasn't been found yet...or your issues are so minute that this will just give you the boost you need to keep the blood flowing to your embryo for good implantation and growth.

Blessings from Hope

I took heparin last cycle and it resulted in pregnancy/live birth.

I decided not to take it this time, though. I am taking a baby aspirin every day instead.

I did not like having to inject myself with heparin, and I think it gave me weird side effects as well.
